Whatever Happened to Stitch's Great Escape? Any Updates on That Space?

What I don't get is the logic of closing it with no imminent or even medium term replacement planned. It has been almost a decade now and occupies prime real estate. It can't have cost all that much to operate. Why not leave it available until a replacement was at least planned?

At the very least, a meet and greet would at least utilize the space.

There was a pretty easy fix - rewrite the show and remove the restraints. Make it more like tiki room.

Same storyline - just no restraints and less total darkness. They still teleport stitch in, remove the glass, and let him cause a little mayhem which allows for some special effects.

That wouldn't work. It's the restraints and darkness that provide the effects.

Just an old man's observation of todays society, but currently the smallest of groups have the loudest voices that totally rule the either lazy or cowardly or apathetic majority. I'm sorry to say that our train went off the tracks somewhere down the line.

Stitch is way too popular to not have a ride/attraction, and the new live action will only exacerbate that issue.
EXACTLY! That is why I was always surprised they closed the attraction, or that they haven't done the Muppets Route. Creating a new ride after closing the original. Maybe they'll be plans after the movie? Isn't D23 around the corner?
They could always move Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor to Hollywood Studios' Monstropolis land and put a clone of the interactive Stitch show they have in Tokyo, Paris, and Hong Kong there.

As for what could replace Stitch's Great Escape... I think our best bet is to hope that Elio does well enough at the box office to warrant an attraction in the parks.
