MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Pure speculation, but I'm envisioning this is WDW's Carsland with the castle being somewhat like Beast's castle/Everest temple. (And I mean the "fairly flat but looks deep" rockwork concept of Carsland - not the attractions.)

I’d bet that too!

I’m still hoping RoA can be saved. Skip Cars and just build Villains. A girl can dream. 🙏
From your keyboard to Bob's ears!!
That is actually the best idea... Reshape the island, remove the fort and back half, and fill in the river retaining a loop where the fort bridge is... The new reclaimed land from the rest of the river could be for Villains, create new settings along the river for the newly shortened River boat journey and a draw bridge for TSI... Also an expanded real restaurant on the island looking over Liberty Square. Perhaps it could even be a Tiana Restaurant... Perhaps even adding to and upgrading the features on the island...new additional things to explore.... Put Cars in DHS where it is a better fit for the tone of that park...
Or move it over to the Speedway location....
My kids love the Fort, but I also understand it takes up a lot of room. I'd be sad to lose it, but if the main island stays we'd be pleased.

I love the fort too, but I was trying to think of a scenario where we don't lose everything to get an out of place Cars attraction... There are three other parks that also need more attractions...Put the Cars thing in one of them...

Gotcha, putting Cars in Animal Kingdom (DinoCo is the name of their oil company after all) ;)

I think I would prefer Cars as part of DHS...keeping all the Pixar based areas together....So this Miniland Cars attraction would be next to ToyStoryland... or next to Monsters area buildout on that side of the park...
I agree. It would have worked perfectly to put Monsters land in Animation courtyard and then put a cars land between that and Toy Story but apparently the cost of relocating the BOH offices would have been to much to make the park make sense and not lose fan favorite locations from two parks.

I really don’t see a world where ROA gets saved and Villains land still happens but I do think that scraping Cars for something like fits better to the surrounding area would soften the blow of losing the river for some people.

Are we taking bets yet on when a delay will be announced?
They can’t really delay anything since they have yet to give any timeline for it but as I’ve seen others say if they don’t Bring it up at Destination D23 this year then it’s probably no longer in active development.

They didn’t give a date.

Didn’t they say both Cars and Villains were part of a 5 year plan though? So although they didn’t give an actual year, that would put it at 2029.

They did say that everything announced at last year's D23 expo would be build within 5 years, which is to later in 2029

they did sort of announce Villains Land at the end, almost like an extra thing so I do think relatively easy to walk that back a bit if it pushes into 2030, but they definitely indicated this timeframe

On that level would be nice. I would love something darker than Not so Scary.
I’m moving this to the correct thread. If there are 2 e-ticket level experiences then I could see one being fun and having a bunch of songs and the other one (probably the roller coaster) being monsters unchained levels of scary.

Only way that works is if the coaster is Velocicoaster level.

After looking at some of the Epic Universe previews, wonder if Disney is thinking about using whatever the “vertical-enabled” (for want of a better word) ride system from Ministry of Magic is in Villains. I gotta say having horizontal and vertical movement is pretty slick. (Not sure I would want as much movement as the Dark Universe ride seems to have, where you’re moving in all directions and flip almost upside down. Probably nausea inducing at my age. But the vertical capacity looks pretty cool.)

I would be open to all kinds of ride systems EXCEPT trackless. Rise is the only one that I would accept cause you go up and down.
I actually would love for the Villains dark ride to be like those ghost trains in fairs/carnivals but on steroids and themed of course.

My dream rides for this park would be a Maleficient Thrill Coaster and an Underworld Boat Ride with some new impressive effects. Imagine a storyline where Hades decides to bring all of the villians back, as a sort of way of connecting them all together and explaining why they are here now. You can go through a show scene with each villian doing villiany stuff in the Underworld (shaped to fit their personality)

Honestly, one show stopping effect that I think would be cool but probably not feasible would be for the boat to head towards a waterfall but be "picked up" by an arm similar to DK at Universal. So you go over the falls but feel like you are being floated by another villian who decides to spare you (of course to show off or smth)
