Seriously, don’t get your hopes up for Lord of the Rings. That’s not a deal that would be secretly relegated to a park that’s supposed to be rather cheap.
What has ironing got to do with this ?
Oh man! They are getting Jaws!!! As much as I like Harry Potter, I really do miss the Jaws attraction in Orlando! Not that anyone asked, but here's my predictions for Universal Studios Great Britain, mixing strong rumours and speculation for lands with my own guesswork for what'll actually be in each of them. I tried to study the concept art as best as I could so I wasn't just making wild guesses into the void, and I kept these sets of predictions grounded in reality, not my own fantasy.
If anyone cares, once I made this I also made a dream park version of this concept art breakdown, that featured the things I thought would actually be the most interesting and cool for the park, instead of what I genuinely expect will be greenlit. I'll post it if there's interest.
If anyone else wants to make their 'Bingo cards' for what we'll see, please go ahead, it'll be fun to see who guesses the closest to the eventually announced attraction line-up!View attachment 852473
I haven't heard any rumours of this park supposedly being cheap. Where did you first hear this from?Seriously, don’t get your hopes up for Lord of the Rings. That’s not a deal that would be secretly relegated to a park that’s supposed to be rather cheap.
Location wise the site is great. There is also direct rail access from Luton Airport and its position is close to motorways for car access. People travelling from the northern cities won’t have to go through London for access either. Eurostar services from mainland Europe will have direct access from King’s Cross st pancras as well.Yep. Easy train access from Heathrow and Gatwick airports via the London Underground and other rail networks.

Why would they have a Harry Potter hotel with no HP characters n the park?Could they do an HP hotel though? If that hotel that is a long the entrance are is Potter that could be popular
The announcement of the theme park happened just days after confirmation that Luton airport will get an expansion.Yep. Easy train access from Heathrow and Gatwick airports via the London Underground and other rail networks.

Rowling’s involvement with the parks has dropped off precipitously. The franchise is really being run more by Warner Bros and it is Warner Bros with whom Universal has a contract. Why would they have a Harry Potter hotel with no HP characters n the park?
And why would JKR give permission for it, given the Studios would be a mess ch better location for it?
Unlikely. I’d bet harder on villains land not happening at all then it does go through and this finishes first.Do we get this before Villains Land in MK?
As much as I'd love a Dark Universe variation, I doubt they'd want to do that seeing as they want UK visitors to continue feeding into their international tourism business in Florida. Even if the Dark Universe land is unique to the UK, the facts Monsters fans can get their fill locally could theoretically threaten their overseas travel business.Seems possble/realistic. I was debating on if the area you have for LotR was that or possibly a variation on EU's Dark Universe, but from a personal standpoint, I'd love for it to be LotR. For the BttF coaster, it would be a missed opportunity if it didn't go 88 MPH (which would possibly put it closer to the range of a giga... though a very "tall" hyper is also possible).
What is impossible to dispute is that this park will take a LOT of inspiration from Beijing with several assets (including much of the right half of the park) looking like it will be more or less copy/pasted between the parks.
Comcast / Universal don’t have the theme park rights to LotR. A Swedish group Embracer bought those rights (worldwide) 2 years ago.Seriously, don’t get your hopes up for Lord of the Rings. That’s not a deal that would be secretly relegated to a park that’s supposed to be rather cheap.

The UK has plenty of steel available with no tariffs for a start! That’ll save quite a bit.But But But Comcast can't afford to do anything major after EU....because streaming losses and cord cutting and stuff...
Except JKR holds all the strings on HP rights. I believe she refused Universal hotel rights in the US.If the WB Studio tour has rules that prevents them from doing Potter in the park, but not doing a hotel that would be a way for them to have the IP at the park without breaking any agreements
J.K. Rowling sold the theme park rights for Harry Potter to Warner Bros. Embracer / Middle Earth Enterprises & Friends could sub-license like Warner Bros.Comcast / Universal don’t have the theme park rights to LotR. A Swedish group Embracer bought those rights (worldwide) 2 years ago.
True, but do you think Embracer, a small Swedish video game company is going to build a LotR theme park, our do you think they will take a BAZILLION $$$ from Universal for the rights.Comcast / Universal don’t have the theme park rights to LotR. A Swedish group Embracer bought those rights (worldwide) 2 years ago.
There are a lot of things companies do that they can’t afford to do! It getting done is not really where the issue lies. But But But Comcast can't afford to do anything major after EU....because streaming losses and cord cutting and stuff...
Rowling still has creative control with WB and has to approve everything.J.K. Rowling sold the theme park rights for Harry Potter to Warner Bros. Embracer / Middle Earth Enterprises & Friends could sub-license like Warner Bros.

It was one of the conditions of the deal. That plus rail improvements in the Oxford - Cambridge “corridor”.
This has been really carefully orchestrated by the UK government and Comcast.
