Not that anyone asked, but here's my predictions for Universal Studios Great Britain, mixing strong rumours and speculation for lands with my own guesswork for what'll actually be in each of them. I tried to study the concept art as best as I could so I wasn't just making wild guesses into the void, and I kept these sets of predictions grounded in reality, not my own fantasy.

If anyone cares, once I made this I also made a dream park version of this concept art breakdown, that featured the things I thought would actually be the most interesting and cool for the park, instead of what I genuinely expect will be greenlit. I'll post it if there's interest.

If anyone else wants to make their 'Bingo cards' for what we'll see, please go ahead, it'll be fun to see who guesses the closest to the eventually announced attraction line-up!View attachment 852473
Oh man! They are getting Jaws!!! As much as I like Harry Potter, I really do miss the Jaws attraction in Orlando!

Yep. Easy train access from Heathrow and Gatwick airports via the London Underground and other rail networks.

Location wise the site is great. There is also direct rail access from Luton Airport and its position is close to motorways for car access. People travelling from the northern cities won’t have to go through London for access either. Eurostar services from mainland Europe will have direct access from King’s Cross st pancras as well.

They would never do it but what would be great would be to have a Harry Potter themed train leave from Kings Cross and arrive at a themed station at the resort with a hogsmede themed citywalk area

Could they do an HP hotel though? If that hotel that is a long the entrance are is Potter that could be popular
Why would they have a Harry Potter hotel with no HP characters n the park?

And why would JKR give permission for it, given the Studios would be a much better location for it?

The announcement of the theme park happened just days after confirmation that Luton airport will get an expansion.

It was one of the conditions of the deal. That plus rail improvements in the Oxford - Cambridge “corridor”.

This has been really carefully orchestrated by the UK government and Comcast.

Rowling’s involvement with the parks has dropped off precipitously. The franchise is really being run more by Warner Bros and it is Warner Bros with whom Universal has a contract.

Seems possble/realistic. I was debating on if the area you have for LotR was that or possibly a variation on EU's Dark Universe, but from a personal standpoint, I'd love for it to be LotR. For the BttF coaster, it would be a missed opportunity if it didn't go 88 MPH (which would possibly put it closer to the range of a giga... though a very "tall" hyper is also possible).

What is impossible to dispute is that this park will take a LOT of inspiration from Beijing with several assets (including much of the right half of the park) looking like it will be more or less copy/pasted between the parks.
As much as I'd love a Dark Universe variation, I doubt they'd want to do that seeing as they want UK visitors to continue feeding into their international tourism business in Florida. Even if the Dark Universe land is unique to the UK, the facts Monsters fans can get their fill locally could theoretically threaten their overseas travel business.

If the WB Studio tour has rules that prevents them from doing Potter in the park, but not doing a hotel that would be a way for them to have the IP at the park without breaking any agreements

Except JKR holds all the strings on HP rights. I believe she refused Universal hotel rights in the US.

J.K. Rowling sold the theme park rights for Harry Potter to Warner Bros. Embracer / Middle Earth Enterprises & Friends could sub-license like Warner Bros.
Rowling still has creative control with WB and has to approve everything.

She also retains the rights to the characters and how they are used.

The oxbridge corridor is a long planned project which universal can piggyback. It’s designed to create growth outside London by connecting the two universities but the Road element has been cut.

I wouldn’t read too much into the UK government announcements - we are currently in a local election cycle so this will play well for votes. The government isn’t that popular so is looking for good news stories like this plays well for them, even if a lot of the work was done elsewhere. I remember when Mrs Thatcher announced the Battersea Power Station park but it was never built and the site was derelict for about 40 years so lets hope after that and ebsfleet its third time lucky for London 😀✌️
