MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

The thing is that there isn’t really a good spot to put a fantasyland entrance. The proposed locations are either too far away or too difficult to build on. We are most likely to get the one entrance and if there is ever a fantasyland expansion to the north then it would probably connect to them
I think Villains is the northern expansion of Fantasyland.

Will the Maleficent castle (?) in the art be just another beast castle (Be Our Guest) forced perspective? I was wondering also if it will be seen from other lands in the park since it looks pretty way up from the ground.

Could they make a Fantasyland entrance to Villains over by Gaston’s Tavern? The narrative transition would be pretty obvious — his tavern could be on the edge of a “dark village” like what we see in the right side of the concept art

They’d have to reconfigure / eliminate the restrooms, and modify the road behind to dip below a new walkway

I forsee a few issues with this (yes all can be fixed via money)
1) you either need to rip out the actual tavern (which is connected to BOG) or the bathrooms. If you rip out the bathrooms, you need to replace them nearby
2) It is a long distance to villans land... my guestamiate is ~500 feet which is a whole lot of nothing
3) still need to travel over the road that accesses the utilidoors
4) If you simply cross the road... instead of following it... I think you are in a a fireworks fallout zone and would have to close this area during fireworks.

Again, not impossible, but a lot of money to solve it.

I like the idea @CoasterCowboy67 , but it does sound like there are some issues to overcome. So for that reason I doubt it will happen, at least not in the near future.

Agreed, I'm all for ideas... I still think the flybridge over the utilidor entrance is the best one I've seen anyone bring up... it just seems like Disney wouldn't be willing to pay for it (idk how to dissipate the fumes of trucks idling under a guest path)

What does everyone think the chances are that Villains land has a second entrance located in fantasyland between enchanted tales with belle and the Pinnochio bathrooms? This would move a portion of the new land just behind the haunted mansion and small world show buildings.

Potential benefits would be improved crowd flow by creating a loop rather than a dead end. A more logical story as you could access the land by passing through fantasyland and traveling through some kind of dark corridor. Maybe it would be a spooky forest, or a cave? They would have to accommodate the service road back there that goes behind small world and HM, but they have built themed guest pathways that go under or over service roads before, especially in Tokyo DisneySea.

I like the idea because it would create some breathing room around the east and north side of big thunder mountain by shifting villains further east. Which may allow them to leave a section of the river as a divider between BTMRR and Villains. Parts of the track go over the RoA currently, and if they remove the river in that section it would require a lot of extra theming or some kind of boundary. Whereas leaving a stretch of the north west portion of RoA as some kind of water feature/narrow lake seems like it would be a viable option if Villains land was further east behind those show buildings. Water in this area is potentially supported by the concept art.

Thoughts?
Unless they were really going to put a lot of the area behind Fantasyland, just don't think it is worth it for how much work it would take and how far the walk would be

I think just two portals to it, one closer to Big Thunder and one closer to Haunted Mansion ... and then at some point an 2nd entrance to Magic Kingdom through Villainsland accessed via themed hotel that it at that northwest edge of the park

I will never concede the loss of the river and Frontierland as a good thing... The cars thing will be popular because it is new... and in time everyone will forget that the park layout had structure and maning... and we will all get used to it just being a thematic hodge-podge of stuff....Eventually Tomorrowland will continue to degrade and just become another area of thematic loss...Whatever is the hotr property will be dumped there.... and that will be that. Doubtful the MK will ever get a second entrance and hotel though....The park is overcrowded as it is....and there are three other parks that need more attractions and expansion....

If Villainsland gets us a hotel with a new entrance to the park and a new nighttime viewing location then I will concede the loss of the river.
As nice as that sounds, if it happened it would almost certainly be a Deluxe - DVC hybrid, quite possibly with restricted access from MK to guests staying there. Maybe an ADR might get you in.

I still wouldn’t forgive the loss of the river & TSI.

I know I have hopes for this but does anyone else here hope that Captain Hook and jafar are actually face characters? I can easily see hades being a face character based on his appearances on Disney cruise line and at Disney events like villains after hours and recently Oogie boogie bash including other ones that are appearing in the land like queen of hearts but with the new villains show this personally gives me high hopes for Captain Hook and jafar and others who are fully costumed like queen of hearts as face characters in the land.
