Scary Rides for a 5 year old

It depends on the child. My five year old son last year was so scared we didn't even get pass the entrance of Snow White or Pirates of the caribean. He seems to be afraid of anything dark. We'll see if he's a little better next week when we go. My only advice is let them go at their own...

    January- Crowds, Weather....

I always go in January, the crowds aren't too bad. Average 30-45 min wait for major attractions. No huge lines for food etc. The weather is unpredictable. Two years ago it was beautiful the entire week, no rain comfy temps. Although not what I would call swimming weather. Last year it was...

1st Week in Jan. or 2nd Week in Mar.?

We've gone during the first week of January for the last three years. My husband can't get away so I travel with my young son alone. The crowds are excellent during this time, not to many--just right. We also get the best deals for hotels, flights and admission. This year couldn't get away...

    Trip advice required

I was a travel agent for a number of years and always found the opposite to be true. If your stay was spread over two 'seasons' you would pay two different rates. You also see this at hotels who have weekday and weekend rates. I would assume the Disney properties work the same way.

    Illuminations Cruise

Thanks everyone for the advice. I never would have thought to ask for blankets. (In Jan. I'm sure I'll need them) I'm travelling alone with my 5 year old son. The CSR said we would have the entire boat to ourselves, do they not offer some kind of group outing for small parties?

    Illuminations Cruise

I have booked the illuminations cruise for my visit in January'02. Has anyone done it? Is it as wonderful as it sounds? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What makes WDW that special place

As a child growing up in Canada Disney World was a magical place you only saw on t.v. My first visit was as an adult with my son. When I'm there I can be a kid, do silly things and just look like part of the crowd. My husband can't travel with us so my son and I do nothing but have fun and...

What ride would you hate disney for if they closed it down?

Since I'm always travelling with my son who is five this year, I have not yet experienced many of the rides you are all mentioning. Therefore for me I would definitely miss any of the major shows, like Fantasmic, festival of the lion king, etc. I can't wait until he's old enough to go on the...

    Is Animal Kingdom worth it?

Hi everybody! Just new to the forum but this is my take on AK. While it wasn't my favorite park there are some attractions here not to be missed. The Festival of the Lion King was one of our favorite shows along with Tough to be a bug. The safari was the closest I'll ever get to the real...
