Just pull out the old blueprints and rebuild it 1 to 1.. take the trains out and make them a kuka arm and update the lights / projection and leds. Do nothing else and it will have 2 hour waits daily.
All the need do is set those experiences up as a "lighting lane" type access, while your already at the park you just add on $299 Light sabor training, take a quick immersive shuttle over, have a 20 min experience and be back in the park. Problem solved and it would sell out slots all day long.
You'd think it would be an easy way to help with the silly wait times issues. Just open up stitch and auto create the demand for it by allowing it to be easily accessed without having to use lighting lane.
You know, I don't mind the super clunky stuff as you go uphill into the first scene. If they would remove the stupid screens and keep the area dark, makes it really feel like your in a time machine and you never know what could happen.
So, they SHOULD have built a tent structure outside of the back of TOT.
Here is why.
You walk up the normal que line to the tower, you go on the normal ride, everything leading up to the drop is normal.
Then as you fall down the shaft you faintly hear the sounds of a hot jazz band...
As...
Had they just done nothing but update the globe with higher res led screens, 4 new barges with fountains and lights and perhaps a few more lasers... ROE would have lasted another 10 years easy.
I would LOVE for them to bring back the original ride.. but here is the thing.
They don't seem to have the talent to pull it off.
So that said, I'd rather they not ruin it a 3rd time.
