I don't agree with that at all. The failed replacement of one attraction doesn't equate to ripping out three integral pieces of the Magic Kingdom, all of which are part of the DNA of the "castle" park. Even Shanghai has a few large bodies of water.

I agree, but I also think that the mindset of the company during the most notable expansions/renovations - 2012 for DCA and 2019 for DHS - was very different from the mindset that led to Adventure World in Paris. I think a name change would be far more likely today, and I figure the combination...

My honest expectation is that, at some point in the next few years, we'll have Disney Adventure World California and Disney Adventure World Orlando in place of California Adventure and Hollywood Studios. Why not create a franchise of franchise parks? :rolleyes:

Downtown Disney's specialty shop selection has always been pretty mediocre. lululemon and Nectar are interesting choices, but they beat more unremarkable Disney-owned shops. Nectar in particular is interesting given how Basin didn't last.

Given the ongoing contraction within the UK amusement park industry, I'm really interested on seeing how operators (particularly Merlin) respond to this. And of course, this may also affect Disneyland Paris and other European competition somewhat.
