I'm really astonished by the number of people here who assume Universal hasn't done their research. They have decades of data showing exactly who is going to HHN, and presumably the Chicagoland area has a high number of attendees. It's not like said "why not Chicago ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯" without any...
I don't agree with that at all. The failed replacement of one attraction doesn't equate to ripping out three integral pieces of the Magic Kingdom, all of which are part of the DNA of the "castle" park. Even Shanghai has a few large bodies of water.
I agree, but I also think that the mindset of the company during the most notable expansions/renovations - 2012 for DCA and 2019 for DHS - was very different from the mindset that led to Adventure World in Paris. I think a name change would be far more likely today, and I figure the combination...
My honest expectation is that, at some point in the next few years, we'll have Disney Adventure World California and Disney Adventure World Orlando in place of California Adventure and Hollywood Studios. Why not create a franchise of franchise parks?
Regarding TDR's status as the "best" Disney resort - I'm sure execution of whatever is built will be exceptional. Even if the concept is poor, they usually pay to make things worthwhile.
I remember reading that OLC was forbidden from advertising Tokyo Disney Resort outside of Japan. I'm very...
Downtown Disney's specialty shop selection has always been pretty mediocre. lululemon and Nectar are interesting choices, but they beat more unremarkable Disney-owned shops. Nectar in particular is interesting given how Basin didn't last.
Given the ongoing contraction within the UK amusement park industry, I'm really interested on seeing how operators (particularly Merlin) respond to this. And of course, this may also affect Disneyland Paris and other European competition somewhat.
Given the likelihood of Laugh Floor moving over to the MuppetVision building at some point in the future plus the Stitch building still sitting vacant, I'd hope the company has been eying Tomorrowland for a revamp in the not-too-distant future. Space Mountain could certainly be a flagship...
Why exactly are you saying that? Volcom's parent company - which also owns the terminally distressed Quiksilver and Billabong - is bankrupt. It has nothing to do with Disney Springs. How many times does Steve need to tell everyone that the Disney Springs tenants are often the top performing...
You can't deny that Deadpool and Wolverine were hits at the Avengers Campus. I'm assuming Disney thinks they (Deadpool in particular) are too risky for a meet & greet, but I can't imagine that's the last we've seen of them.
I definitely expect it will happen. 2028 is not that far away, and The Simpsons is miraculously still relevant (and increasingly relevant among younger generations) plus i'm sure the company is very, VERY keen on the food & beverage revenue Universal is getting from their Springfield areas...
Knowing they're building a DVC showroom on the second floor of the Carousel building is so depressing. God knows that seals the building's fate for another decade.
Well, it certainly feels tailored for Disneyland's faster-paced ride path. Much better in that regard. I just really disagree with the use of vocal tracks in the beginning of the ride - it's distracting and unnecessary.
Why not, exactly? As I have mentioned before, the number of failures at Disney Springs have been few and far between, and the stores that have closed were mostly stores that didn't make a ton of sense or were struggling nationally. Pura Vida is also owned by another Disney Springs tenant Vera...
FWIW, i've found Summer House to be the most unremarkable of the Lettuce Entertain You restaurants i've been at. RPM Italian and their Mediterranean concept Aba are both excellent.
I won't be surprised if they remove the Clover in the remodel. They've been transitioning away from the Reserve coffees in domestic stores outside of the large flagship roasteries, and they've removed the Clovers and Reserve designations from all of my local stores.
They have been rolling out a...
It's unfortunate that the water parks are treated as value-added items for a ticket instead of real destinations. There's been a tremendous amount of innovation in the aquatics industry, as evidenced by the competition in Orlando, and both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach are hopelessly...
