The only time a fantastic fastpass may be needed is on nights there are only 1 fantasmic. It will fill up 30 min or more before. Other than that kind of night, go to te second showing much less busy. You can also do fantasmic dinner package which is in the middle of the theater.

It is an AP. I put it under family and then linked ticket. In the app it tells me he has fastpass but when we scan the ticket is not there. So trying to see if I am missing something in a step.

I took both my kids at a month old. I take them on anything without a height restriction and the shows. Like a previous poster said be prepared for a lot of people to stop you and give you their opinions. Also utilize baby care! It is a life saver when wanting to get away.
