News Josh D’Amaro Named Next CEO of The Walt Disney Company

Six Flags only avoided bankruptcy again because they were bought out, I mean merged with, Cedar Fair. The combined chain also took a play on the “get as many people in the parks this year as possible” book. I only paid about $750 for fast pass at every park in NA every visit, food at every park...

News Josh D’Amaro Named Next CEO of The Walt Disney Company

I think they would put up with it. But they aren’t at these price points. Were the price of admission lower they would. The current situation is working great for me. Lower crowds has increased my enjoyment (I don’t travel at peak periods anywhere)

News Josh D’Amaro Named Next CEO of The Walt Disney Company

It's already having an effect, just not as visible as people want. We're still 3M people annually from the MK peak attendance in 2019, which is about 8200 people per day. With COVID "revenge travel" they should've easily hit that figure again. But they never did. Instead Disney had to get...

News Josh D’Amaro Named Next CEO of The Walt Disney Company

I don't think they have a choice but to pivot back. When people realized you could fly to Japan, stay for a week at Tokyo Disney Resort and fly back for the same price as a Florida vacation it showed how overpriced the Florida vacation got. As their attendance falls the place becomes "uncool" to...

News Josh D’Amaro Named Next CEO of The Walt Disney Company

At least Iger is setting him up for success this time with a massive expansion of most Disney parks around the world. Certainly different than the last time he stepped down 6 years ago

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

I'm not convinced that's changed. We're going to Universal Studios, and the land I'm most excited for is Harry Potter, while my dad and mom are most excited for Nintendo. The success of HTTYG and Minions are for a younger demographic than mine, but even the people who grew up with these are now...

Which park needs the most urgent attention?

I think AK could use 1 or 2 more E-Tickets, but they really have to hype up the garden and animals more. It's the perfect centerpiece for a "go touch grass" campaign. HS needs 3 or 4 real people eaters and UPDATED shows. Mickey and the Wonderous Book would be fantastic here. MK needed an...

News The Walt Disney Company Board of Directors Extends Robert A. Iger’s Contract as CEO Through 2026

This actually scares me. Being parks-focused is nice, but Disney is first and foremost a media company. The media usually flows into the parks, and usually not the other way around. Media is also where Disney has floundered the most post-2020. I hope Josh has a close second who can help him...

Distinction between "theme park enthusiast" and "Disney Adult"

I remember reading that there's a scale, and a lot of us on this forum are higher on that scale than others. The scale starts as not being a Disney or theme park fan, and the scale ends with being a Disney fandom fanatic. For myself, I love the Disney parks, but my favorite park is AK for...

News Gideon's Bakehouse May Be Cooking Up New Venture at Disney Springs

If you noticed that still doesn't stop places from raising their prices anyways. And FYI - those tips that you give don't have to be paid to employees unless they say they are going to employees. They are legally allowed to go to the place of business otherwise.

WDW Space Mountain is better than Disneyland's. Change my mind.

I haven't been on Paris, but WDW for me every day. There's a level of jank to the WDW experience that overall enhances the experience. Plus the track layout is just better.

WDW Space Mountain is better than Disneyland's. Change my mind.

Their's is closed, and I cannot wait to see what they do. Intamin looks like they're about to do something wild.

Soarin’ Across America to replace Soarin’ Around the World for Nation’s 250th Birthday

We've been a nation of industry and engineering for a long time now, and one the best way to show that is our cities. I personally think the skylines of NYC, Chicago, and the National Mall are fantastic sites to see along with Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and our other natural landmarks.

    News Tomorrowland love

It better deserved a spot in Living with the Land or Animal Kingdom because of it's additional environmental messaging. Tomorrowland is already forward-thinking and optimistic, so what could you add from WALL-E? An advertisement for life onboard the Axiom?

DHS Disney Confirms Muppets Take Over Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Hollywood Studios

The outside is a box with a big guitar attached. It won't take them that long.
