Will more people be driving to WDW this year and using less Disney transportation?

I live in North Jersey. As a kid we used to vacation in Canada every year. 400 miles, but 10-12 hours one way (rural two lane roads through Vermont that eventually turned to dirt roads were we had our cabin make the trip take that long). Now, the farthest I am going to drive is the 300 one way...

    July 11, Opening

But they are allowing you to cancel. I just canceled my end of June reservation at Hilton Head, roughly 25 days out. Normally those points would go into holding, but they released them into gen pop and I was able to use them to immediately re-book a end of December stay at WDW. If the OP was...

DVC resale prices affected by the current situation ?

We ended up canceling. Still a little to risky for our tastes (my wife is immune compromised) as well as they re-arranged our flights from NJ to Savannah to include a 5 hour layover in Washington DC. We were able to cancel our DVC reservation and re-book for a late December stay in WDW. We...

    Travel agent?

Well, now it is canceled - we got the email last night. We have to think about our re-booking options. I'm not sure if we can get a TA involved or not. We have the options of just moving our cruise to next year (same cruise, same time frame, same perks) or getting the %125 future cruise credit...

    Travel agent?

Will do. We normally book Celebrity on our own because it's a simple on line interface, we have done it a number of times, and it is a simple itinerary for us - we sail out of Bayonne, so we just drive there - :). But if you have specials, that is something to think about. We very likely will...

    Travel agent?

I hate to disparage anybody, but when we used AAA for booking a Celebrity cruise, it was not helpful. We did get some excellent perks, but no real customer service. AAA was not bad, but it just did not feel as if they added anything. We did most of the research ourselves, booked excursions...

    Masks at WDW

I wish I could like this multiple times.

    Masks at WDW

How? Seriously, not being snarky. IF you are going to eat or drink you need to wash or sanitize your hands before doing so anyway, or else there is no difference between touching your face with dirty hands or touching a mask with dirty hands.

    Masks at WDW

That does not matter, as long as they don't remove it

    Masks at WDW

I can say I could handle it, but then I am likely an outlier. I don't get dehydrated. Back when I was distance running a lot, if I was running 6 miles or less, I would not drink water - I just didn't need it, even in August in NJ. However, for those that need to drink more frequently, you...

    [COVID-19] DCL Sailings Canceled

That is one of the reason we think out Celebrity cruise will not happen. It is a 7 night cruise, but 3 days are docked in Bermuda. For us it is really like a cruise / Bermuda vacation combo. If Bermuda is off limits, that changes the whole dynamic of the cruise. For a DCL cruise, I would...

    Travel agent?

I will second this. A travel agent does not add to the cost - the get paid by the cruise line, not you. They also may offer additional credits. Most of the time, and definitely with DCL because of the way they price, you are not going to get cheaper rates on your own. I worked with Kingdom...

    Masks at WDW

I don't buy this argument. What are we, children who can't control what we do, or tolerate a little discomfort? Aside from people who already have breathing issues, a mask does not suffocate you - if it does, you are doing something wrong. You don't need to constantly touch your face or adjust...

Which attraction would you want to be barefoot on least?

Lets just say I know where they sell children's underwear in both the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (Same kid both times too)

    [COVID-19] DCL Sailings Canceled

It's not a DCL cruise, but a Celebrity cruise - mine is still on for now - July 26 (The CDC restriction is until July 24 - DCL went a few days further it seems) It really looks like it's not going to happen. Celebrity is giving up to 48 hours before departure to cancel with either 100% cash...
