    I don't need the fries

They may be "re-configuring" things again. Some people try to game the system by ordering certain things to come up with a cheaper alternative, and then when WDW catches on, they change the pricing to prevent it. Years ago you used to be able to get a plain hamburger bun for $1. Sometimes...

For the foodies out there - what are the best restaurants in WDW?

It's not even about a refined palate. I am firmly in the "WDW dining is no longer worth it" camp. Yet I enjoy all sorts of food at all sorts of places. There is a local bar around here that I eat at often. In no way is it "refined" food, but it has good beer, good solid entrees, friendly service...

For the foodies out there - what are the best restaurants in WDW?

That has been my chief complaint about WDW dining in the last 10 years or so. I understand location pricing, and I accept that something at WDW will cost more, but lately things have started costing a LOT more, while at the same time food quality has gone downhill. The food is not BAD at WDW...

For the foodies out there - what are the best restaurants in WDW?

I agree about the F&W extra ticketed items. They are excellent.

For the foodies out there - what are the best restaurants in WDW?

I think the term foodie is thrown around fast and loose. Me personalty, I agree with the latter part of the Wikipedia entry that you quoted as the definition. "Many journalists, like Roberto A. Ferdman, author of Stop Calling Yourself a 'Foodie' in the Washington Post, also criticize the word...

For the foodies out there - what are the best restaurants in WDW?

You started out using the term "foodie" which right off the bat makes me leery. I'm not trying to insult anybody, but when I hear that term think of people who are into celebrity chefs, instagramming their meals, and raving about "artisinal" offerings. If that is the case, then you will have a...

    Riviera Pricing and Point charts

Disney cruises are also something I have given up on. I still like them, but in my opinion, unless you have young children with you, Celebrity is a much better value. Of course opinions can and do vary. I pretty much find Disney offerings overpriced across the board. We have not gotten to the...

    Riviera Pricing and Point charts

I pretty much agree. I would like to stay at RR, especially for our Food & Wine trips. Given to point charts I really have no desire to stay there for family vacations. It is nice looking, and I for one do like the theme, but it is not appealing enough to make me get a 2BR there. At this...

    Riviera Pricing and Point charts

Again, one data point does not prove anything, but ...... This is me to a T We have 3 kids, when we go on a family vacation we get either a 1 or 2 BR unit. We like the space and so do the kids. We also use the room a lot. We eat breakfast in the unit, we come back in the afternoon to swim...

    Riviera Pricing and Point charts

As somebody who has lived in the NE for their entire live (Northern NJ) and has relatives in VT and NH, and who's family used to have a cabin in Canada on the VT border, and who used to ski, and who as a kid went on family vacations all over the NE. I can say, as a single data point, I have been...

    Riviera Pricing and Point charts

I honestly think I would like the Murphy bed (as long as it is comfortable). So there goes that one data point that messes things up. Part of the reason I like 1BR units is that the non-bedroom park does not look like a bedroom. When I am at home, I do not hang out in my bedroom. When there...

Are you a WDW loyalist or another type?

When we go to WDW we go to WDW. I have been to other attractions (not just parks) in Florida, but usually for us, a trip to WDW is a trip to WDW, not to Florida (Sorry Florida) WDW itself is to blame for this. It's not as if we are superuber Disney fans. It is because of the pricing structure...

    Rental Car Advice

Some advice and some answers: I) Check to see if where you work has a corporate rate. Call the rental company and say "I work for ABC Co. do you have a corporate rate" They don't care if it is for business our your personal use. You may have to show ID or a pay stub when you pick it up...

Getting from Epcot to MK after IllumiNations

I didn't see this thread when it was first started, but just to add an other data point. I have done it myself as well. Watched I:RoE right by the bridge to Future World. Beat the crowds to the monorail. Made it to MK and watched Wishes from the Main Street Train Station.

    O'Hana reservation needed (possible swap)

I call people out for the same thing, but I try not to because it does sound persnickety. So, I guess, thanks for doing it for me :)
