City planners looking into gondola system

Man, I wish I could tell you, but your guess is as good as mine. This section form the original article is quite telling though: "Last December, Swyft Cities shared a PowerPoint presentation indicating that their gondola system—comprising of a fleet of around 35 “pods”—could be implemented at...

City planners looking into gondola system

FWIW, this image seems to propose using the Whoosh system. Pods are self-propelled along static cables or tracks, allowing ease of switching off of the mainline to station stops. Hmmm....

This image seems to have them happily coexisting. Or, more likely, they've replaced the center median palms with shorter varieties.

City planners looking into gondola system

Swyft advertises (they haven't built anything yet to the best of my knowledge) two systems. One is a pretty standard gondola. The other is called "Whoosh" (they are a licensee). This would be the cool point-tp-point system, but looks much more expensive than the regular gondola. I guess in...

They have to keep updating things, lest they become "old and stupid". (Let me know if you need a link to that video.)

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

As a wee lad, I dreaded moving through the HM attic because of those pop-ups. As I aged a bit, I learned to appreciate their simple thrill. Then I came to miss them in their absence. I have to admit, the zenith of Haunted Mansion (for one that had it mostly memorized) was encountering "the new...

Also, when Disney owned or ran (I forget what the real arrangement was) the Queen Mary, there was a pretty well done "haunted tour" of the ship. I'm not sure how directly involved they were in the production, but I really appreciated its sometimes understated elements at the time.

Once upon a time, I visited Six Flags Magic Mountain in October - but during the day. So, like Knott's, you had spiders and webs etc. on coasters, which was just oddly amusing. They were however running a "haunted" walk-thru in the old Magic Pagoda. That featured at least two or three...

Avengers Campus: E-Watch! (Waiting on the new ride)

Hard to tell. It looks (for now) like the side facing the park is taller than the back side. It might be used to support a façade (for theming and maybe to alter site-lines).
