One hour and 20 minutes away from the back door, or 84 miles.( Turnpike, to Rt 429, to the back door! )

We have been going to Disney some 30-odd years now, and find that although Disney is NOT cheap, it is less expensive than a whole lot of other places. Of course one goes to Disney for much different reasons than going to N.Y. and such. Of course I have to agree that the crowds have gotten way...

You have to remember that all of Florida is one big sinkhole. This can happen anywhere. They do a lot of deep reinforcing into the ground to avoid stuff like this, if possible. We have been living down here for 20 years now, and you can see this stuff happening regularly.
