Test track has operated for decades with the working door effect (minus that relatively brief stint it wasn't). I 100% expect it to be back in operation eventually.

The problem arises when guests are riding through a summary of a film like Frozen on a glorified moving chair. That's just cheap storytelling and should be labeled as such.

With the dawn of the Instagram Influencer, I highly doubt a new figment ride will be a walk on unless its somehow worse than the current ride.
That said, if your scenario were to happen, I'd imagine corporate will proceed to leave it as-is for the next 2 decades at least.
