Test track has operated for decades with the working door effect (minus that relatively brief stint it wasn't). I 100% expect it to be back in operation eventually. No need to dwell on what is most likely a timing issue.

With the dawn of the Instagram Influencer, I highly doubt a new figment ride will be a walk on unless its somehow worse than the current ride. That said, if your scenario were to happen, I'd imagine corporate will proceed to leave it as-is for the next 2 decades at least.
