This is a new card that no one has ever had before so in theory everyone who applies and gets approved is eligible for the sign up bonuses. You have to do a new application - it can't be an upgrade of the current card you hold.

That makes sense - I applied for the new card and was instantly approved and got my gift card instantly as well so I will just downgrade or cancel my other card.
