When will Disney finally build another resort in the United States if ever?

Go to the Imagineering forum. I dreamed up just such a Disney resort, although I left the location open to several possibilities.

News New Gondola Transportation - Disney Skyliner - Every Possible What If ....? Has Been Discussed.

I generally agree with you (avoid skier here, opening day in one week!), but I'll note that at least in Ontario, a death on the road or on mass transit will result in a complete shut down while they carry out the accident investigation.

    Caramel Corn changes

Yeah, it would be nice if the World Showcase tried to actually import food and merchandise that wasn't generally available in the US. There are SO many good German treats out there.

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

So, there's my Imagineered Disney-designed, owned and operated mountain resort. As intriguing as the idea is and even though the concept originated with Walt himself, I don't think we'll ever see anything like this. Current Disney management doesn't seem too keen on aggressively expanding their...

Disney's Policy On Public Singing - Forming A Flash Mob

The more I read this thread, and the more it is explained, the worse the idea seems.

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

Someone suggested Alaska... an intriguing idea, but unfortunately, a major ski resort on the scale that I outlined would probably be too difficult and expensive to support that far away. Unless Disney could somehow buy Alyeska Resort.

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

The northern Rockies could work as well, anywhere from northern Colorado to Canada. Denver and Calgary both provide the necessary populations and infrastructure. My ill-informed opinion would favor the Canadian Rockies, simply because in pictures I see, there seems to be a lot more water...

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

The White Mountains of New Hampshire and Maine and the Green Mountains of Vermont also provide most of the requirements, except easy access to large population centers (although the Whites are a little easier to reach from the greater Boston area).

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

I think two of the best locations would be the Adirondacks of NY. And the Laurentians of Quebec. Both have impressive mountains, pre-existing resorts, long winters, ample water supplies, and good road connections to nearby population centers. The Laurentians in particular are close to both...

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

Finally, where could Disney build this resort? Keeping in mind that zoning and conservation laws tend have become much more stringent since the days that Walt built his resorts and that conservationist concerns ultimately killed his Mineral King Ski Resort, the easiest way that the Disney...

Disney's Policy On Public Singing - Forming A Flash Mob

Flash mobs are best received when performing to popular music. Bea Arthur's song from the Star Wars Christmas Special is neither well known nor well loved by those who are even aware of its existence. At best, you will confuse people, but more likely, you will just annoy them. And remind them...

Disney's Policy On Public Singing - Forming A Flash Mob

As I understand, this practice isn't nearly as common as in the 80s and 90s... but dear God, it was disruptive! When the groups started to sing, they would overwhelm the immediate atmosphere, particularly if it occurred indoors while waiting in line. I daresay that Disney guests pay a lot of...

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

And that's about all I can think of for our Disney mountain resort, both for winter and summer. Next, a discussion about possible locations, then I'm completely finished.

    Imagineering a Disney Mountain Resort

One final feature that is common at European ski resorts, but I see used far less in North America. To maintain the slopes and keep vegetation from overgrowing, they use a traditional method (My pics). The cows keep the slopes clear in the summer, and the resulting milk they produce can...
