I would not say the in-ride effects are anywhere near world class in today's world of cosmic rewind - but given the short turnaround, I doubt we are going to see massive innovation there.
I do think Aerosmith and their music is a far better thematic fit for a thrilling rock and roll based...
...and, maybe a bit harder to quantify, but sprinkle in a little Disney charm and whimsy...which was a constant ingredient for so many years, now gone missing. The older guard, including Tony for sure, knew how to add this element.
I'd love to see Muppet Vision come back and replace Villains to create a cohesive themed land there...but it would be very against type for Disney to invest money to customize a theater to relaunch an attraction that had a 10 min wait time. I wouldn't feel great about it just being plopped into...
True - but it's very likely they'll be able to use music that costs less. Licensing fees vary greatly, so I'm sure Disney will be smart (cheap) here.....and older well known classic music like Aerosmith is typically more expensive b/c the ownership is spread across labels, publishing companies...
The total edge loss is really the downgrade for me. This is an Eisner era ride when there was an initiative to appeal to older teens and up. Like them or not, Aerosmith brought a bit of a sense of danger, Tyler is as big of a real rock star America has ever produced, worts and all. Their music...
im glad it's there, even if just a memory now - much rather see Contemporary/Bay Lake them lean into classic Disney vs Incredibles
The murphy bed art should be the electrical water pageant with a switch to light it up.
I think it's worth doing at least once, but I'd lean to breakfast if possible. Eating in (what's left of) the grand canyon concourse with monorails flying by still has some magic. It's an iconic way to fill up in the AM before heading over to MK. The characters are still good, although the...
Agree that Riv are the nicest rooms on property - but liking the skyliner is essentially a must to stay here and justify those prices in that location.
I do have to admit theming inside rooms has improved over time. As an 80s kid, I always wondered why more was not done to make the rooms unique...
It's certainly not impossible to fill a new Disney resort on Bay Lake - but pricing with GF/POLY/CR could be 'terribly incorrect' long term. With all that transferring out of SSR/OKW, those rooms are always available at lower rates.
Valid point about MK losing rooms - but I'm not as certain...
got it - then I guess you are saying it can never flex beyond the ownership rate (i.e. there can never be more than 5% of Saratoga sold direct from Disney)....edit: clarification above from JAX pointed out they can flex if points ever used outside the system.
The further unknown variable would...
Just out of curiosity - since Saratoga/OKW villas are seemingly always available to book direct from Disney (much greater availability than Poly, Bay Lake, BW, BC, etc) - how are we confirming only 5% are booked outside of DVC? Are they contractually required to allocate 95% to DVC irrespective...
This is quite the monstrosity - 900 rooms stacked on top of each other? We still have to see the amenities and pool but do we think they will have trouble filling this if they go for premium rates?
Sure, Saratoga has 1200 rooms but their rates are very competitive (and more picturesque...
To me, for a trip of that length, a big factor is which vibe you prefer - b/c those hotels have vastly different theming and feels.
Most (all) are choosing POFQ and I agree there is more going on there when you add in Riverside, food options, the River Roost lounge if you'd want to grab a drink...
Second the above - I actually prefer the less expensive lake view to theme park (although many disagree). I like the serenity of the lake and don't love the parking lot.
5th floor is a good request if you want quick access to the Contemporary, but may want to stay a room or 2 away from the...
