If I recall correctly, it was part of a patent submission from Disney for an axis control design that would allow a ride vehicle to swing from a beam like a pendulum while keeping the vehicle parallel to the surface. As with some other patent submissions, the additional elements, such as the...
Regarding masks and the heat, I was out much of yesterday here in AZ with the temperature topping out at 115. It was surprisingly not as bad in a mask as I expected. Granted, we don’t have the humidity. But, after you reach 110, and you’re standing on pavement, it‘s just another version of Hades.
I have heard much more surmising toward the opposite (underreporting in multiple states). I’d seriously appreciate seeing supporting evidence to the contrary.
In response to the original question, “Do you think Disney will delay its opening...”, my guess is yes.
Schools in AZ, which is seeing a similar surge as FL, have already postponed the start of in-person classes for the Fall term. They have yet to determine whether to offer in-person classes...
I can appreciate the cost concerns with refurbishing and maintaining GMR. To me, the issue is not with keeping a specific ride. It is losing one for another.
If I recall correctly, those same insiders also previously mentioned additional phases with attractions for DHS that were very close to...
Just my $.02...I and my family are excited about MMRR. However, for a park that is in desperate need for attractions, the decision to replace GMR vs. refurbishing it and adding MMRR as a new build is a real head scratcher IMO.
Otherwise, Disney should feel very comfortable taking down IJ...
Unfortunately, most of last week included extreme days. My family and I were at Disneyland Monday - Friday for the first time since 2015. My wife has visited the SoCal parks 50+ times (LA native and former Disney/ABC employee). She was quite surprised by the crowd sizes throughout each day.
Disney has a business district backlot and residential street at the Golden Oak Ranch (http://www.goldenoakranch.com/locations/business-district/) in Newhall, CA about 30 minutes north of the Burbank studios.
Though it wouldn't be my first preference, I would like to see, at least, a couple of Bugs Land-like attractions themed to Toy Story included. IMO, some additional, simple diversions in this area would seem to help.
I'm guessing that Disney will have limited construction in the parks near the beginning of the 50th anniversary celebration. With this assumption in mind, it seems like any additions, especially to MK, should begin sooner than 2020.
While I appreciate and support the idea of a superhero attraction that appeals to thrill seekers, I would propose that that need can be satisfied w/o replacing one of WDI's better efforts at WDW.
There's plenty of space at DHS to build multiple new attractions. That park needs a net gain in...
Interesting. If they are rethinking the plans, I'm curious to see if they may be re-evaluating the entire entrance plans, including direct access from Osceola, or just the entrance/exit from Victory Road.
If the parking decks are still in the works, am I correct in assuming that the completion of the new lot should allow work to begin on said decks on existing parking areas?
