Both resorts are wonderful. If your plan is to eat at Chef Mickey and California Grill I'd stay at the Contemporary. We stayed at BLT for the first time in January and fell in love. I didn't think I'd like it too much but wanted to try it.
WL is great but you will have to rely on...
My kids still talk about the time that we rode Frozen and Olaf had static black eyes. It was actually a bit frightening. At least if an animatronic stops working it just stands there still while having a face. lol
I don't think so. I think people actually crave real sets and animatronics. People get screens all the time at home and don't want more of those. I've hear a lot of bad feedback on the projection mapping animatronics for example. And people are OVER screens.
I highly doubt Splash will close before 2023 for the change. They need that open for all of the 50th especially since the other stuff they're working on won't be open yet.
Since you won't be going yearly, I say don't buy. If you're looking at 1 bedrooms you could use your parents Wyndham points and trade for a 1 bedroom at Disney (usually easy to find SSR). Just a suggestion.
I still miss watching them make the fudge in there. They ruined the confectionary several years ago when they did away with a lot of their hand made treats. I hardly go in there anymore and will go even less if they completely get rid of the rest of it!
I'd just say I'm not interested in taking a trip with you. You could tell them that you only travel with immediate family or something. That would work as long as this person isn't your dad!
Not sure if you're driving or flying but I'd be more worried about the flight than Disney. Disney isn't going to throw you out. You might get told a million times a day to have your child put it back on and as long as you keep complying you'll be fine.
Try not to worry about September so...
