How about the breakfast buffet at Boma? There is quite a mix of food from pastries to eggs to mickey waffles. If you like you can try the more adventurous African dishes, but there would be lots for your wife to choose from. After you eat you can go outside and have a peek at the animals. :)

We went September 2001, 2009, 2011 and will be there again 2014. We love the lower crowd levels, but yes the weather is hot and humid and there is usually a rain shower every afternoon. Just bring your ponchos and carry on! Usually you can get free dining too so that's a bonus.
