The parks around my area are busy with hikers and bikers and all sorts of folks enjoying the outdoors much the same as those who live near beaches. I think there were a lot of interesting camera angles with the beach photos that created the false outrage.

I agree with what you’re saying about the headline. It’s become the norm in “journalism.” I’ve noticed that even the many articles I read with misleading headlines still contain valuable info.

The positive from this study is that there are possibly 50-85 times as many cases as being reported which would bring the fatality rate down drastically. It could very well end up being that this virus, though more contagious than influenza, has a similar rate of mortality.

I've long thought the house of cards was going to fall. Our current situation may push us over the edge.

SARS has a 9% mortality rate which is incredibly high, but it's incubation can be as long as 10 days. With more than 90% of those infected surviving it certainly isn't contained by its mortality rate.
