what was wrong with pleasure island????

I seem to be in the minority here but I walked through it once, hated it and vowed never to go back, and I never did. We were in the midst of our first family trip, my wife and I and our 4 year old. It was dare I say the most magical perfect trip. We were dining at Portobello, which is now gone-...

What was your best magical moment a cast member did for you?

Here are my favorite 3: 1 - My 5 year old daughter at Cinderella's for breakfast. For some strange reason, she told Mary Poppins that she was her favorite - in a room full of the big princesses. Pretty sure she had never even seen the movie before. Mary then proceeded to "Turn up the Mary" to...

Thanksgiving Dinner at Wilderness Lodge: Artist Point vs. Whispering Canyon vs. other?

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner over at Ale & Compass at The Yacht Club. They had their full regular menu, but offered a Thanksgiving Dinner option as well. Loved it. The Yacht Club lobby will also be full decorated for the holiday season with the gingerbread lighthouse and awesome train set.

Do you have any Disney opinions that you feel differ to many on here?

I think the one thing that I carry as an opinion that differs with many here is the fact that Walt Disney World is not a disaster, that it’s still amazing in so many different ways, and that the so called “ good ole days” are not infinitely better than what we have now. We’ve lost things and...

    Three bed options

Yes. Very true. I thought that some of the studios only slept 4 though? I know there are some with a queen, a pull-out and a sleeper chair to sleep 5. But I thought there were also some that didn't have the chair and therefore only slept 4?

    Three bed options

The Yacht, Beach, BoardWalk rooms have a daybed that is perfectly suitable for an adult and that will give you each a bed. Same for Poly, Contemporary and Grand Floridian. I think every room has them. Wilderness and Animal Kingdom Lodge only have 2 queens in the standard rooms. You might...

    Any news on POFQ refurb?

I've stayed at French Quarter and Riverside in the last year with my wife and I and our twin 22-year-olds. We did just fine as far as the size of the rooms.

    Thoughts on Disney's Yacht Club?

Yacht Club is our all time favorite Disney resort and probably one of our favorite hotels anywhere. Great food options there and nearby. Stormalong Bay is the best pool at any resort and not just a Disney resort. QUick walk to Epcot. Lap around the boardwalk at night. Then back home to such a...

    State of EPCOT

I think calling Epcot a Six Flags is a tad bit drastic.

News Jellyrolls Announces Departure from Disney's BoardWalk at Walt Disney World

I can't wait to get into that bubble and I truly don't want to leave during my stay. The bubble is a HUGE part of why I have been going back all these years.

News Jellyrolls Announces Departure from Disney's BoardWalk at Walt Disney World

So...I have to say that I do see the need for someplace to go later in the evenings after the parks are closed. I never went into Jellyrolls but once my kids hit 21 and were in the DCP, they used to go all the time and seemed to have great times there. So, I see that it had it's clientele and...

    Cast Member Standards

I have to say, now that my sons are actual Cast Members, we are visiting much more frequently - let's say 4-5 times a year instead of the old once per year. Over the last two years I have made sure to take notice of the cast and what kind of job they are doing and I have not seen the problems...

    Polynesian vs. Beach Club

Let’s not forget the hot tubs. The Poly has them but in my opinion the Stormalong hot tubs are in a much nicer spot, high up surrounded by beautiful rock work. Not much better than a soak when it’s chillier out. They also have an adults only hot tub for a much more thorough relaxation.

    Polynesian vs. Beach Club

Love the Poly, but lately we have been finding it's just a little bit too crazy there whenever we visit. Always busy. Lots of crowds in the public spaces. We love the vibe of Yacht and Beach. The walk into Epcot and around the BoardWalk, lots of great food, the awesome pool and, like I said...
