On your birthday let the front desk at your hotel or Guest Relations at the park you go to know it's your B-day and you'll get "It's my Birthday" buttons you can wear all day so people can help make it a magical experience for you both.

I don't have experience with the way Disney does it, but when I need help/info at hotels, I found that the best source is usually the Concierge.
While the front desk people may know what you want to know, their main job is managing room check in & out. The Concierge is there to help with...
I'm doing something similar...renting near WDW then driving to Miami and flying home from Miami airport. Found a good deal from Budget, in Kissimee, not too far from the hotel. Suppose to have pick-up service available, but you'd have to check with them.
