    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Thank you!!! Very helpful. Saved me time on the phone. Seems like it’s all a mess.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

I did the exact same thing (upgrading a multi day ticket) and still never received my welcome package. Don’t know why that would matter though, but you may be right.

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

It’s really not that tough of a message to build on though even for first time audiences. If they had more to share they could still open with the company’s interest in promoting inclusion, then dovetail quickly into new concept art and even a generic timeline. Possible quotes Disney could...

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

Until MBA and comms programs at major universities change or there is some sea change in how shareholders act this is how Corporate America operates in a nutshell. It’s like having a thesaurus with all but 3 pages torn out. When in doubt pull from selected talking points, defer hard decisions...

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

What’s amazing to me is that since this ride was announced two additional ride inclusivity changes (JC and Cartoon spin) have been announced and will likely be fully completed before the last America Sings Goose sings it’s Zip-dee-do-dah swan song. And with so little actual detail still coming...

    News Reimagined Toontown coming

My guess is Roger will get a layover more in line with DL’s Snow White than WDW’s. I.e. not a full removal but “updates” to show scenes which while unnecessary won’t change the nature of the fact it’s still a spinning blacklit ride. Cartoon spin will remain in some form with updated...

    News Reimagined Toontown coming

Wild guess but I could see MMRR opening January 2023. That would be the 30th anniversary of ToonTown and would fit with Disney’s plan of opening a major E post-holiday as they did with RoTR. Also this does lend some credibility to the rumors Splash/CC may remain untouched for a bit longer -...

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

Tiki bars are okay because alcohol is America’s pastime. Besides imagineering “fixed” the Trader Sam problem. 😉 In all honestly I do enjoy partaking in a Hippo-Potomai-tai Trader Sam’s myself. But the hypocrisy is funny.

    The Miscellaneous Thought Thread

Honestly it’s time to either go back to a retro Star Tours ‘87 or go full blown Mandalorean inspired. Right now in its current state it’s too derivative of Galaxy’s edge which is already sequel trilogy heavy.

    Best domestic Disney park?

It’s been a long time since I went to WDW but based on my recollection: 1. DL 2. DAK 3. Magic Kingdom 4. Epcot 5. DCA 6. Hollywood Studios DL is honestly just an emotional attachment to me since I grew up there and it just feels like Walt’s park. Packs a greater bang for your buck as well...

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

Lol. King Louie was featured on Dancing with the Stars Disney night 2 nights ago and one of the judges literally said “Zip a Dee Doo Dah” (gasp!). This is all performative for optics, but if they’re going to do it, they should at least do the ride justice, and do it right.

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

If Disney is serious about representation in an ideal world this attraction should at least be on the level of AAs that are featured in the BaTB dark ride in Tokyo since this is a modern e-ticket and not a Cardboard flat aesthetic. In addition, I would assume some of the existing AS AAs will...

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

They weren’t. This shouldn’t even be up for debate at this point, despite what the stans want to believe. They were serious on capitalizing on the moment though. They weren’t throwing away their shot.

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

If keeping it open buys the Imagineering team sufficient time and budget to design a better attraction, so be it. Assuming this was announced early in the planning process, I’m not convinced there’s an urgent need to mothball the ride now from a capacity/operations perspective until they’re ready.

    Splash Mountain Announcement for Disneyland

I’m not sure who you’re referring to but the people that you’re allowing to get under your skin and live rent free in your head really don’t care that much. Social media is not real life and shouldn’t be taken personally. It’s best to enjoy the ride as it is now than sulk in its removal. Don’t...
