Beginning June 15, you will start to notice the following changes:

FACE COVERINGS

Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in most areas. Face coverings will still be required of all Guests on Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails and Disney Skyliner. While we will not require proof of vaccination, we expect Guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, and upon entering and throughout all attractions and transportation. Guests must observe current policies on face coverings until June 15.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

We will be relaxing physical distancing guidelines for Guests. This will be visible in places like queues, shops, restaurants, attraction boarding, transportation and our theaters. It’s important to remember that some experiences and entertainment may still be operating with limited capacity or may remain temporarily unavailable. We’re not quite ready to bring back everything yet, but we are optimistic and look forward to the day when Disney pals and princesses are able to hug once again.

CLEANING

We will continue the high standards for cleanliness and sanitation we’ve always set for ourselves. Cleaning supplies and hand sanitizer stations will still be available.

We encourage people to get vaccinated.

Really disappointing. Why on earth would anyone think that an honours system is a good idea after all we've seen since the pandemic began?

PR wise it looks bad if they kept the masks while all the other theme parks dropped them.

PR wise it looks bad if they drop the masks too early like universal.

So, if you eliminate distancing while in restaurants, a time when clearly you are not wearing a mask. You've eliminated both masking and distance while in a restaurant.

What's the point of masking (or distance) in any other location then?

Is there some "it's cools to have increased exposure risk while eating inside, you could have picked to eat outside, but since there's only one of these indoor ride/show/store things we don't want to expose you there when there's no other choice".

Did they upgrade the ventilation while we were not looking in all the restaurants with reduced distance? I haven't checked the permit thread, maybe I missed it. :)

I guess some people may choose to never dine indoors. But, seems like most will at some point. Once you're doing that, what's the point anywhere else? Are they going to suggest that unvaccinated people shouldn't eat indoors where distance is reduced?

Enforcement should be interesting for 6 to 11 year old kids, not.

To me, if we're good with the FL infection level, really the US since guests come from all over, to not need any mitigations while an unvaccinated person is eating in a restaurant, then we should be good enough to not need mitigations anywhere else too.

I make no judgement on if the level is "good enough", for some it is, for others it's not. If someone is in the not camp, they've got 4 days to adjust. I would guess most people (but not all) who already have reservations think "it's good enough already".

I find it more interesting that they could have followed suit with Universal and SeaWorld, but are instead following a timeline and date that allows them to allow out of state DL visitors. Also with some distancing relaxation receiving Newsom’s blessing.

This is great news for vaccinated visitors. With my youngest being unvaccinated, though, and with ongoing community spread, I’d be more uncomfortable now than I was over Thanksgiving. Like everything else, time will tell if this decision (by all theme parks recently) is the correct one.

You do realize the announcement is for WDW. Newsom and DL are on the other coast.

Yes. June 15 is still CA’s target for more relaxation, including theme parks (though not to this level). Just saying making the date the same for the next respective phase in either park is interesting to me. TDO could have done this at WDW two weeks ago or whatever it was for Uni.

There won’t be enforcement for kids, nor should there be. Assumptions can’t be made. Kids could be in a trial.

I am anticipating an announcement from DL soon on their 6/15 protocols. It’s only 1:30 pm there.
