News Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser coming to Walt Disney World 2021

At Bay Lake Tower Disney has convinced people that a smaller room than the traditional contemporary resort rooms that is in a separate building from the transportation and dining and with a pull out couch and a queen bed is a “Deluxe Villa” worth paying *more* than the standard deluxe room price for because it has a $30 microwave in the room.

I’m not sure Disney is worried about the actual niceness of the accommodations when setting prices.

None of the Disney deluxe hotels really offer luxury, comfort, and opulence as is -- at least not comparable with what they're charging.

I understand that, in direct price comparison to other deluxe hotels.

That was the first thing I thought of too. It's on the side of the building as well.

Not that it stopped Disney from putting up a big sign that says Toy Story Land when you're supposed to be in Andy's backyard, so I'm not sure that's something they really care about.

I’m as big a Star Wars nerd as they come (see the attached image of the room my son and I built) but I’m really torn on this idea. For the assumed price it just doesn’t seem that great, unless of course they give everyone a retractable lightsaber to take home with you, lol.

We really don’t know much about the actual experience yet. When they release further details it’ll be easier to make a judgement.

I know. It’s just that as I’ve become older luxury has become more important to me. Those cabins don’t look luxurious at all.

Oh come on - with (such an awesome!) Star Wars room like that, you know you are going - even if they make you curl up in a sleeping bag in something the size of Yoda's hut.

It's star wars. Nothing is luxurious. It's a run down universe. You'll be lucky if you don't hit your head on a door as you walk around.

Ohhh so the cruise is run by Carnival Cruise Line, it all makes sense now!
