I read the study this morning, and the charts are helpful in understanding the distribution over time. The narrative about lagging demand, which is just a snapshot, is highly misleading, in terms of how it's expected to actually play out.

That wait and see group keeps shrinking. The President plays it pretty safe in his projections. If he expects 70% of adults by July 4, the Administration is certain we will surpass that. I expect we will settle around 80% of adults by fall and once people realize they can do many of the things they miss with vaccine while they must test their children, many will bring their kids in for a shot to avoid the hassle. We just booked our first Broadway show in 2 years for December. I will test my children, if necessary, but can hopefully vaccinate them before then and avoid the headache.

Why would you tell people who are complying with the mask requirement to ditch masks because they can’t be expected to comply? Maybe I’m misunderstanding?

FastPass+ worked great for us, but we vacation differently from most. I expect we’ll adapt to whatever system Disney adopts - or we’ll find another vacation venue. Life is all about learning to deal with change.

It never worked for me. I hate planning my ride times and it wasn't easy to ride attractions multiple times. Then again I'm in the minority in the most Disney park goers are one and done on most attractions.
I still maintain that Universal's system is the best one

I’m at WDW now and it seems people are complaining more about the lack of FastPasses than masks. Masks are miserable but people know they’re temporary.

When we were there in February, that was what I heard too, including from my own family. Fast pass for me is very significant because I’m all about the atmosphere and resorts not the type to go on as many rides as I can. So to have 3 or more rides guaranteed when I’m there with minimal wait is perfect for me. Same with the locals.

The problem is “wait until I see the effects” when the vax theory requires max participation is in essence: a no.

The actual headline is that Less than a third of parents say they'd let their child get Covid-19 vaccine right away.

An additional third want to wait to see how the vaccine is working. Not sure why the hesitancy as we know the vaccines work and are safe, but the numbers are better than implied here.

I see it as a flaw in the polling. When the options are get it right away, wait and see and not get it ever many people look at it as not yet approved so they won’t answer right away and pick wait and see. They are really waiting to see if it gets approved. We saw this with adults too. Once approved the polling went way up and most of the wait and see group switched to yes. I do expect kids to be lower than adults in general mainly due to the 65+ population getting to 85%+ by the end of the vaccination push. I think adults will get to around 70-75% nationally and kids could be around 10% lower with kids 12-17 around the same as adults but kids under 12 maybe barely getting over 50%.

The value of Universal's Express Unlimited, especially when tied to their deluxe level resorts, simply can't be beat. As an out-of-towner who chooses to come only every 18 months or so, the ability to skip as much of a wait as possible outweighs the desire try some of their more value and moderate offerings. Adding EP to that stay and comparing it to RPR or HR moots any discussion.

We like FP+, and like other here have learned to game the old/current system for rolling 4's, but the planning aspect is very off-putting. Whatever they bring back needs to be an improvement. Charging for a carbon copy of what was would likely keep us from purchasing.

“wait and see on approval” is a completely different poll.

this should be revisited 2 weeks from now...when the vaccinations probably will be underway.

Though truthfully, people who refuse to be vaccinated aren't all that interested in traveling the world to broaden their horizons.

Common questions I was asked after moving back to the US after several years of living in Germany and Belgium:

"They have socialism there, right? How did you put up with that?"

I have no idea how much intersection there would be between the type of people that would ask those questions and vaccine refuseniks, but I firmly believe that an even brief trip abroad to Western Europe would be extremely eye opening, in a positive way, to many people. Maybe we might actually advocate for some positive change rather than just wallowing in our fetid denial.

Thanks to anti-vaxxers, yes. Fortunately not all go full-on anti-vaxx though and merely choose to space out vaccinations instead.

It's a reasonable expectation based on the Israel case, although offhand I think their population skews older than the US.

my response would be “a lot like living in the socialism program heavy United States...which even has huge bureaucratic machines to protect the wealth of “private” business”

That's my understanding of DLP's packages, though I've never really looked closely.
