News Disneyland Resort Permits

I find all the secrecy stuff Disney pulls really funny. Nothing tops Universal Florida who has been building a Jurassic Park rollercoaster in plain sight without ever announcing it. That's the ultimate secrecy.

It's like making a movie and releasing it without promotion. Don't you want more people to know about what you're doing not less? Sure, we all know what's going on but Joe Blow in the middle of Kansas wouldn't have a clue. I'm sorry, being mysterious or secretive is a horrible marketing strategy.

I suspect that Disney wants to have their marketing run by their marketing department instead of a bunch of enthusiasts rabidly rifling through permit filing. (No offense intended, SSG.)

CONCRETE BALLAST BLOCKS! WOO HOO!

For real though, is this intended for the Backlot store or for the opening of BVS ? And if the later, are they aiming open BVS early November? Hmm.

I am assuming (no inside info) that this is for a canopy/entrance near gate 13 (next to la brea). Similar to the setup they had as a park exit when the DCA main entrance was closed and they used that gate for guest traffic.

The unions are suggesting that all CMs returning are being given one week notice and calls are going out today, so they won't be back to work until next week. Early November might be hard to pull off. I would think Thanksgiving would be their target for this to open.

Meh. 'Confidential' Building Permit

BLD2020-05279Disney - Confidential ; see correspondence for scope of work

Also this previously confidential signage permit was amended with some wishful thinking.
SGN2020-00123DCA - Paradise Pier - Install (1) non-illuminated sign anchored on to existing archway to read "Viva Navidad". (11-1-20 through 1-3-20)
november 1, 2020 to january 3, 2020? do they have a time machine?

Considering the time frame, I would think this would be related to removing the Christmas Decorations. Kinda weird that it would be confidential, but maybe that's just part of the new normal.

They have to pretend that they didn't want to reopen their theme park this year.

Because, you know, it's tacky to admit that a business might want to turn a profit.

They didn't bother to put decorations up in their theme parks because they knew they would still be closed. But they did out some up in Downtown Disney (which would still need to be removed).

How's that lawsuit coming?
