Trip Report I Will Survive.....Spring Break (with a hint of May) *COMPLETED*

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live among the Spring Break crowds
But then I spent so many nights thinking how I could be wrong
And I grew strong
And I knew I could get along....

Well that’s what I’m hoping for anyway. I’m not a newbie when it comes to navigating Spring Break at WDW. I’ve got a couple decades of experience under my belt. “Spring Break” isn’t a single week of cray cray crowds (like the week between Christmas and New Years) but is spread over March and April. Unfortunately one (or more) of those weeks can end up being cray cray....and these days, there is no way to predict which one.

Please don’t let it be this week.

But we are prepared. ADRs at 180 days. FPs at 60 days. Clothing for rain or shine. (Praying for shine ~ we’ve had enough rain over the last 4 months to set an ark afloat.) And attitudes willing to “go with the flow.” 🐢

My goal is to keep the updates live. Should I fail? There’s always Part “Tu”.

Who: Tuvalu, Woody and Em (the teacher whose schedule dictates when we go)
When: Sunday, March 31 - Sunday, April 7, 2019
Where: Port Orleans French Quarter
Why: Let’s hope we don’t ask ourselves this!
How: We’ve done the plane, can’t take the train....so it must be the automobile!

Will we be smiling at the end of the week? Stay tuned.

And if you don’t hang around for the smiles, you may want to peek in and see if there are any WDWMagic meet ups. I know of at least three forum friends I hope to encounter.

Now it’s off to bed! The alarm is set for zero-dark-thirty.

I’ve read that Character Paloozas ~ spontaneous, unscheduled meet and greets ~ are rare.

Then I should play the lottery since I have now encountered a CP on back-to-back trips.

We had just passed Canada on our way to Les Halles when I observed that the large wooden doors that hide the entrance to World Showplace were open. I nudged Em to take a peek when all of a sudden Max spied her and came out through the doors, grabbed her hand, and escorted her inside.

Woody asked Em for her camera so he could document this fun surprise.

There were very few guests here and we got plenty of face time with Max, Launchpad, Mickey and Hook.

As we entered the U.K. I overheard a rocket scientist exclaim, “Hey, this must be Europe or something!”

And I that moment I realized I no longer had my umbrella. I told Woody and Em I would be right back. I figured I must have left it at the CP. I hurried to World Showplace where two CMs were closing the wooden doors.

“I forgot my umbrella!” I pleaded to the CMs.

I was allowed inside and recovered my umbrella which was propped against the wall. Crisis averted! :joyfull:
Pixie dust day

Tuvalu is home.

This restroom is the only one I have found during Flower and Garden that has flowers by the sink.

It was in our bathroom, too, Tu!

Very unusual to find flora in the gentlemen’s john. Didn’t know it was F&G; assumed it was just a Polynesian thing. *The more you know...

After the server left I leaned over and asked Em what “presents as fruit forward” means.

It means sweet!

I’m glad you appreciated the characterpalooza. It cost me a pretty penny. Didn’t even know you would be there that day, but figured it was safe to assume. 😉

I'm shocked! ;)
For several years during F&G, all the Epcot restrooms contained flowers. Even the men's (confirmed by Woody!) We found it a funny (yet sweet) touch. So I always look for restroom flowers during F&G.....and this year there are none. :bored: That's what made the Poly restrooms unusual. So perhaps it is a "Poly" thing?

It means sweet!
Of course a wino would know the answer! :cautious:

Very generous of you.
And always a safe assumption.

I love these photos. They've really cheered me up as we are just back from airport sending our son over to WDW where he will be working in the UK pavilion in the rose and crown for the next 12 months. We won't see him in the flesh until November (thank goodness for FaceTime) so everyone please keep me going with all your fab trip reports. Oh and if you are in the UK pavilion and spot Jack from Glasgow say hello 😊

Do you think he’ll be working at Rose and Crown tomorrow night? I know someone who has an ADR.....

Unfortunately no. He doesn't start until Monday. This is his second time so he has a bit of training then usually starts on little beer stand or the Yorkshire fish and chips for a bit before rose and crown restaurant. Hope they have a great meal though. My favourite choice at rose and crown is the Welsh burger. One of the best burgers I've ever had 😊.

Before chowing down at Les Halles, we admired the topiaries in France.

I know why Beauty and the Beast is here.....

.....not as certain on the placement of Miss Piggy.

But I love this display, so the reason for its location doesn’t really matter! :joyfull:

After lunch we enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the Promenade.

That is until I had a panic attack.....when I couldn’t find Lady and the Tramp.

Aha! They’ve been moved!

When we completed the circuit I rewarded myself with a violet lemonade. :hungry: I actually shared it with Woody....he was quick to discover how refreshing it is! (Next time get your own, hubby!)

Em and I bought pretty teal MagicBands in Mouse Gear before we left the park. We spent nearly 5 hours in Epcot and did not ride a single attraction!

The gals lounged by the pool while the guy napped in the room. Then we spent the evening at DHS and discovered that riding Slinky Dog Dash is even better at night! 🎢

Up next, Day Seven

Day Seven

This will be a picture-less post.

#BlameEm

Apparently she did not take a single picture on our last day. And I’ve already posted all my photos from today.

Therefore all I’ve got to offer is a quick wrap up: morning rides in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, lunch at BOG, visit to GF to see the Easter eggs, afternoon break at POFQ, dinner at Capt. Cooks, ice cream at the Plaza....and a thunderstorm which prevented our last ride on BTMRR and a viewing of HEA.

And I won’t forget meeting @93boomer, a highlight! :inlove:
