Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Everybody except Spenser skipped brekkie today.
We left all of our bags with the doormen, ordered our car for the airport, and headed out the Columbus Christmas Market again.

Almost all of my shopping is done, but there is zero chance of me hitting a mall before Christmas, so I figured this would be a good chance to pick up the last few gifts. Sadly, I still haven’t bought anything for Mike except underwear, and I don’t see that changing. This makes me feel really bad, but between last year’s tv and popcorn maker, and his birthday FitBit and Bluetooth headphones, I’m fresh out of ideas.

He says me letting him go to Las Vegas was gift enough. (We don’t “let” each other do anything, that is not the nature of our relationship, it’s just a saying.)

After the Columbus Market, we headed up CPW so Ski could see the Dakota, and then over to Strawberry Fields. I’ve taken very few pics this trip. a) I’ve taken most of them already. Multiple, multiple times. And b) the perspective from a wheelchair is not conducive to good shots.

This is the bridge from the snowball fight scene in Elf.

Bethesda Plaza. I love this place. I love all of Central Park. It’s truly a wonder.

From there we went to Trump Tower, at the boys’ request. We bought a few things. Fanciest elevators I’ve encountered all trip.

From there, we had just enough time to sneak over to St. Patrick’s. There was a mass in progress, which presented a whole different experience.

I bet that by "letting", Mike means "Supporting". You supported him going to Vegas. That means a lot. My husband is supportive like that, buy my ex-fiance was not. I had to argue and argue with him about making a trip to Vancouver, BC and he tried desperately to convince me it was inconsiderate of me because he "wouldn't be there to make sure no guys flirted" with me, and when I said he was welcome to go, he said he couldn't afford it. I offered to pay his bus fair (I was going on Greyhound) and he said no, those were MY friends I was visiting...he didn't know them. I told him he'd GET to know them, and they would BECOME his friends...he had no desire. In the end, I just had to tell him I was going, and if he chose to sit at home and feel sorry for himself, so be it...which he did. And then made me feel guilty when I got home, but that's a long story. But trust me when I say you supporting Mike in what he wants to do is a HUGE gift.

After lunch, Spenser came back to the hotel and Mike took Ski to check out Grand Central Terminal - this is his first trip to NYC, Spenser's third.

And what does Grand Central Terminal have?

I had two or three wee spoonfuls. Sooooo good!
(Magnolia Bakery’s world famous banana pudding.)

I finally decided it was time to eat, so on the way back from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, we stopped at Starbuckie’s.

Once Ski stalked the fourth floor lounge to find me an empty sofa, Mike got me comfortably settled and the three of them headed out to lunch.

My digestive issues from yesterday have passed, but the last thing I want to do is watch everyone over-indulge at a Brazilian steakhouse while I just sit there.

I swapped out my awesome blue Uggs for some awesome blue fluffy socks, and I am reclining on a sofa.

Todays’s breakfast, lunch, and dinner:

My coat is now draped over me like a blankie, and Ski’s coat is rolled up like a pillow to prop my knee.

I wanted to try to take a step in the hotel room this morning, but all three men freaked and said to wait until we’re at home tomorrow.

So, is the knee better? No idea. It’s certainly not worse - thank you, Lord.

I know this knee thing has been a huge bummer for you but it makes me smile at how protective your boys are of you. It sounds like they have been wonderful caretakers.

:hilarious: This pup! Best "service dog" ever!

When I was a kid I had a Shepard that looked exactly like that one and had the same behavior skills as that one. We had to sell her because she kept knocking my 4 years old sister over all the time. Bring her inside the first thing she would do is pee on the kitchen floor which didn't endear her to my Mother either.

It’s a good thing I’m married to my phone (well, except for that time 5 days ago when I lay on the front lawn crying for help for more than 10 minutes 😂), because halfway to JFK we got notification of a change of terminal.

Our flight was overbooked and they were looking for volunteers to opt for a flight tomorrow. We declined. Had we known that they were paying $700 per ticket, we surely would have reconsidered.

That was probably $700 USD ....

The NY Post had this photo of Billy Joel and his daughter from the concert the other night. They captioned it, "Billy Joel welcomes his 3-year-old daughter Della Rose on stage for a duet of "Don't Ask Me Why" at Madison Square Garden in New York" which is somewhat misleading. She didn't so much do a duet with her dad as hold the microphone (which she snatched from his hand) and dance. It was adorable.

When it rains, it pours.
Hopefully that applies to blessings as well.

Our 3 1/2 year old Jacuzzi hot tub conked out while we were away, and the guy at the 1-800 number was an absolute jack-a$$. “Do you know what time it is? It’s a few days before Christmas. It’s our busiest time of the year.”

Yeah, ‘cause we get to choose when the hot tub acts up.

Poor Mike has to go out there and drain it and blow out the lines, ‘cause based on Jack-a$$’s attitude, I doubt we’re going to get a call back before Christmas, let alone a service man.

And this is why he needs to get it done pronto.
