I'm surprised nobody commented on this. This seems to be a minor blow to anybody hoping for a leveling of this area after SGE opens.

Not really. If anything is announced next year (just saying "if", not saying I know anything is happening or that we've even been told something might) we'd probably not see any movement until late 2019 or 2020. It still has to exist until they decide what to do, if they do anything.

My guess is they won't demo Disney Junior or the Mermaid theater. Animation Studios is probably the target. Getting rid of that opens up a large amount of space to add something else. Should they so choose. The buildings on the side don't necessarily have to go (and I don't see them going anywhere, personally, but I know nothing, lol).

It’s only a four day refurb, and the Disney Junior show is about to get switched out too. Any changes in this area are still years away from happening, they know they can’t afford to lose the capacity during SWGE’s first year or two. Many of us wanted Mickey’s ride to go here but that was just hoping that the GMR could survive.
