So it looks like there will now be a la carte options available in addition to the fixed price all you can eat starting on May 23. Also alcohol was added, perhaps not surprisingly.

I always felt the fixed price meal was overpriced and simply added to give DDP guests somewhere to use their credits. Now that there are a la carte options, we're considering eating here, as we struggle a bit with table service meals at MK.

I assume they share a kitchen with Liberty Tree and/or Skipper Canteen. Any thoughts on the quality of the food here previously? I wish there was still a show but I think it's still a cool spot for a meal.

How long has Diamond Horeshoe been table service? Am I that out of the loop these days?
Not sure exactly when, but it’s been a few years and it wasn’t always open. Pretty sure it began as a way to provide extra table service during free dining. You probably wouldn’t even know it’s open unless you noticed a reservation available online.

I’m glad they’re actually attempting to use the space even if it’s not for its original purpose. I’m just not paying $40/person for average food.

Has anyone checked out the DH since the menu change? I want to make sure it actually happened as Disney has not yet updated the menu online. Would like to hear any thoughts on the food too. Thanks!

It started full time operation about 2 years ago. We were there the 3rd week they were open, so I am sure things have changed a bit. We enjoyed it very much, it does share a kitchen with Liberty Tree Tavern. The food was tasty, a corn bread piece with the barbecued pork was an interesting contrast. We plan to go again next year when we are there, so will be interested to find out if the same options are available for a la carte or different ones. We really did enjoy it.

We just ate there today. The server said the menu is about a week old.

We had “the feast” which now includes a few different salads and cornbread with a jalapeño honey butter.

The entree portion is the brisket, pulled pork and now chicken was added. This came with a side of BBQ sauce, baked beans, street corn, cole slaw and macaroni and cheese.

The dessert was blueberry pie, peaches and cream cheesecake and a chocolate pound cake.

If we’re talking comfort food, it’s not quite Art Smith’s (which I loved) but I really liked this a lot - I feel it’s a hidden gem in MK!

Also, our server was terrific! She shared one tid bit - she said there’s talk of a new dinner show coming in

Well, a long, long time ago there was a show a bit like the Hoop-De-Doo Review (shorter, etc.) and a restricted fast food menu. The show and meal went away. Full service returned to provide places for DDP to have somewhere to eat. I have not seen the new menu. Would welcome a return of the floor show!

I don't know why anyone even goes in there with no show. That and the stripping of the Main Street shops are the two most disappointing things to me about WDW.

I'm glad to see some positive comments about it. Reviews I'd read for the past couple of years since it returned were consistently dismal. Too bad there's no entertainment -- the empty stage just looks sad. Even a piano player (or failing that, a player piano!) would be a welcome addition.

This actually all looks great minus the meat portion...I'm not sure there is any actual real meat on that plate..
