March, April or May 2019?

Trying to take advantage of a lower crowd spring trip before DS starts kindergarten in a few years (what?! How can that be so soon). Looking at when holidays/events line up next year makes it difficult to choose a best time. Ideally we would do March or April as May starts to get a bit warm for us.

Mardi gras is early march, star wars marathon is early april, and easter is late april. Spring breaks around the country will likely be spread out between mid march to easter if I am guessing correctly.

Is there a week in there that seems best? Also, DS bday is end of march, so it would be neat to be there then but not required.

First few weeks in May if you can make it happen then. Yes, the weather is gonna be warmer than March or April, but the unbearable heat and humidity and constant afternoon thunderstorms have not started yet. We go very late April, early May every year and really like the weather and lower (but no longer low) crowd levels. If crowds are a concern, don't even consider anything around spring break/Easter time.

Your best Saturday-to-Saturday is probably May 4 to May 11.

April 21 is a very late Easter so you don't want to check in on the 27th because that whole week will be heavy.

I was figuring week before and after easter would be heavy. I considered early may, because prices drop then too. Just worried about heat! Im a wimp.

What about march? Do you know how much mardi gras affects crowds? Is it the whole week?

I've had 90+ degree trips in April. I've also had 60 degree trips in March. You're rolling the dice no matter what.

Go to the parks in the mornings until 1:00 and then go back around 4:00 in the afternoon. Avoid the heat of the mid-afternoon and you'll be fine.

The end of March should be good for 2019. Easter isn't till mid April, and the South American cheerleader groups are gone. And the weather is still cool. As far as Marathons your ok in March. The Star Wars marathon is in April, this year it starts today through Sunday the 22nd. So April of 2019 you will have Easter and the Star Wars marathon to avoid

Best of my knowledge they are beginning to mid March and when you say southern I'm assuming you mean USA. My concern for you is avoiding South American groups ( they take over the parks) it's not fun.
Yes by southern I mean texas, georgia, florida etc.

Nala06, I HAD my trip planned for 2018 for the first week, but had to postpone until 2019. We last went the same week in 2013 an IT WAS REALLY NICE! The weather wasn't to hot just yet, the rains hadn't started and the crowds back then were low. But things have changed since 2013. There is no low crowd level any longer, crowd are manageable, but not low, even in low season. That being said, I would plan to go May 4-11 2019. The way the weather has been the past few years, it MIGHT still be a little cool even in May. (I hope not, because I am a WIMP when it comes to the cold!) That is the same week we will be there as well and according to Undercovertourist crowd levels, May 4-11 2019 crowds will be AVERAGE, whatever that is nowadays! Hope this helps!

As previously mentioned it's tough to pick the sweet spot nowadays. I'm here six days a week and sometimes it's a couple days that are great, others it might be an afternoon or random evening. Disney has done a great job of keeping the parks busy.

Understood. Hence the struggle to pick a week for next spring ☺️ Just trying to avoid spring break season as much as possible.

You are being smart in making a choice by doing your homework. What I'm sharing with you is what I see on a daily bases. I don't claim to be an expert, just a boots on the ground everyday commentary. Good luck with your decision.... c'mon down we're waiting 😃

It seems like all of Louisiana is there for Mardi Gras but I know it just looks that way. You will find a sea of purple/gold or black/gold. Most will be there the entire week. FYI here in Lousiana our spring break is usually the week before or after Easter.
