Is it possible......?

I am not sure how this will work out. I just had a quick question and didn't want to make a thread just about that and have it answered in one post.

So this is open to everyone who would have a question beginning with "is it possible"

Here is mine: This came to me on a recent trip where I had to find a room along the way without a reservation. Is it possible during the off season to get a room just by walking in? Or are they always sold out?

It's best to call on the way

Hmmmm... slow season.... can we say theres still one now? You might get lucky. Whats the chances that EVERY room will be sold out on property. Then the question is.... Are you willing to pay IF the only available rooms are ones that fall in the very expensive range?

I have no doubt you could get a room on property at one of the hotels. But, the big issue is that you would risk having to pay for a very expensive room to find a room on the same day. And if you have looked at the room rates on WDW website you will see that room prices can exceed $1,000 a night. Planning in advance is a must if budget is any kind of a concern.

Even in off season times it is often hard to find rooms you want. We've generally gone in the fall which 10 years ago was light and even though I generally can't be certain when we would go I could still get whatever rooms I wanted if I booked a month in advance. Things have changed. This year I was not able to get what I wanted and was left with the options of a pop or suite in animal kingdom... And none of the rooms was available for the entire time so I would have to do hotel swaps during the trip. So you might be able to do it but if you do you probably won't be able to get what you really want. To the pops are just over priced for what they are just like a suite at a deluxe.... I would suggest you consider off-site if you're going last minute. It might not give you some of the perks but then you might be one of the types of visitors that never really uses those perks in the first place.

Back in 2000 drove down with no reservation for a week. Disney had a welcome station when you got into FL. got reservation there below regular rate, a year later it was gone.

I just booked two nights a few days before I got there, change my mind about the hotel that I was staying at, and switched to a different one when I arrived. It’s definitely possible, but you have to be very open to where you will stay,

Disney's onsite hotels always carry a very high occupancy rate. But I don't think they are ever 100% sold out even at the busiest times. Those unsold rooms might be at the high end of the price scale, though.

I didn't mean I was actually going to do it. I just wondered if it was possible. Maybe being in central Florida and on a wim just go to WDW.

The thread was started for anyone to ask a question starting with "Is it possible" .... so anyone?

Is it possible that Disney Execs read these forums to see what true Disney-loving want in the parks?

I'll answer this: No, it is not possible.

I need some solid evidence to believe this one.

I have my doubts. I think their social media department does review twitter, IG, and Facebook.. I was on a cruise over Thanksgiving, NCL replied to one of my photos- 4537C888-3864-4B0C-93F1-45135F55578F.jpeg
I’ve had businesses reply to me before, never one that large...and Disney has never replied to any of my hashtags while there.lol

Seriously though, I’m sure they monitor social media daily, but I don’t know about Disney forum sites. They both kind of mirror each other.

Haha I doubt Disney would look at fan sites too. Who knows though. Maybe someone is laughing behind a screen watching this conversation unfold.

Disney social media has interacted with a few of my friends while they were on vacation at WDW, and my own family when we were in DLR.
