Best place for dinner before/during Micky's Christmas party?

My family has never been to WDW during the holiday season, we plan on going to Micky's Very Merry Christmas Party but were looking for dinner reservations. We tend to like to have a nice dinner when we are at the parks where we can relax and have a drink. What's the best place to try to do that? Should I try to eat before the party, during the party, or after? Be Our Guest? Skipper Canteen? Maybe grab some drinks and apps at Trader Sam's and then head in and eat later? We are staying at the WL, so we could just go back to the hotel and eat their too. Any advice is appreciated!

Eat before the party. You don't want to waste an hour plus of your limited party time in a restaurant that is open all year.

If you want to eat in park, (you can get in as early as 4 with a party ticket) my choice would be the Skippers Canteen, but I would look over the menu first. While it is an awesome restaurant, many people will find the choices a little weird.

Please dine before the party. Party time flies by anyway and if you spend 2 hours dining during the 5 hour party you may be disappointed.

Make lunch your big meal of the day then graze during the party. Pick a MK resort restaurant for lunch/brunch so that you finish before 4pm then hop to MK for the party. If you're staying at WL and looking for a relaxing meal, then maybe Artist Point for lunch. (Wilderness Cafe would be too crazy). Take boat directly to MK from WL. Return the same way.

We scored an ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom for 3:50p the afternoon we're attending MVMCP. Since it's a week before Thanksgiving (exactly!) and the beginning of our holiday season, I thought their dinner option of turkey and all the trimmings would be a nice way to start our party experience. We'll see if I'm right. Plus, there's mac 'n cheese, so how bad can it be?;)

We ate dinner at LTT during our trip during Thanksgiving 2016. Although we did not eat there on the night of our time at MVMCP we did find the meal quite good. We plan on returning during our next trip in May 2018

I always get dinner at chef Mickey's at the contemporary, the night of the party ... matter of fact I already have my reservations for the 12th of December at 6:15 We really enjoy it there, and after we are done eating we usually just walk over to MK, or take the monorail

That's what I'm doing before MNSSHP, although it's a brunch ADR for 2:15. By the time I'm done, I can walk over to MK around the time party goers are allowed into MK, although I'm an AP holder and could enter earlier whenever I get there.
