I suddenly remembered that the Backlot Tour was announced early last year to be one of the ten attractions to be reimagined/enchanced for the 25th Anniversary. Was that canceled/postponed?

It was cancelled/postponed. Bizarrely the attraction was closed for a couple of months and everything was refurbished.

I can't imagine anyone comes off that ride feeling satisfied. It seems to me that it would be a Superstar Limo case where keeping the attraction open drives down guest satisfaction rather than just closing it and pretending it never existed.
