Disney Store Question (Online product); I am on a quest

Alright, so I know this isn't quite a Disney World question, but I have been wanting to buy a big purchase off of the online website and didn't really see a forum for this anywhere. (I even checked in the World of Disney Store in Disney Springs while I was there, but they don't carry this...not sure why.)
First of all, has anyone made a huge Disney Store online purchase that they can give me positive feedback on?
I am on a quest to save up for getting a diamond Mickey Mouse 18kt gold ring, on a quest because it will take me a while to save up my spending money (ya know, got bills and such...yay! Adulting!)
Second of all, specifically, has anyone purchased jewelry from the website and have been satisfied with the purchase?

What do you define as huge? Because I've purchased jewelry...but not 18k diamond rings haha.

Never had any issues, and very satisfied with the products.

Sometimes a chat box will pop up when you're on the site - maybe you can ask any specific questions to a rep? Or click on Guest Services and call/send a message?

A huge purchase for me will be anything over $1,000. I only purchased something from eBay a few years back that was just under a grand, and that was scary because...it's eBay. But, I know this is Disney and they have very VERY specific rules and conditions.

Ah, that's a little over my threshold LOL! Sounds important. I'd contact them directly. Maybe via message so you have it in writing. :)

Both the online Disney Store and the Shop Disney Parks app and I are very, very ,very good friends.

I've bought thousands of dollars worth of merchandise - clothes, MB, pins, toys, collector dolls, mugs, D&B purses, Hoolween/Christmas decorations, etc. I think my biggest order was around $500 total. I've bought jewelry, but nothing more than costume.

I would be hesitant purchasing any gold and gemstone jewelry. First of all, the mark up for what you've described will exceed normal markup for a gold & diamond ring. Most jewelers will size rings for free. Rings come in whole sizes, not half. A size 7 is a little too tight for my ring finger and a size 8 is too big, so I get the jeweler to resize to a 7.5. I also can inspect the ring - how well are the stones secured with prongs, how wide/narrow is the band, etc. I'm afraid that what you will end up with is a gold and diamond ring of QVC quality but at fine jewelry prices. Don't get me wrong, QVC sells some nice stuff, but the quality is no where near the sparkly ring on my hand right now.

I'm sure Disney has a return policy on fine jewelry, but check to make sure it doesn't exclude items that have been resized. The ring will be shipped with signature required. And if you have to return it, make sure you insure the package. And get the ring insured. Which means you will have to go to a jewelry store and get it appraised first - thst will run you a couple of hundred dollars. And you might be surprised at the difference between what you paid for the ring and what a jeweler appraised it at.

I also purchase from Shop Disney Park app and the Disney Store never had any problems returning things but nothing that expensive. I usually like to try on a ring before I buy it because they don't always look great on my stubby fingers.

If this is the ring you are interested in, that's waaay too much money to pay for a ring with a total of .75 carats and that quality - on the lower end of the scale... You're buying stones that are on the lower end of the near colorless scale and slightly included (flawed). I can guarantee the ring will never appraise for that amount.

For comparison, I purchased a 1 carat 3 stone ring, 14k gold with the diamonds set in platinum, for around $1,400. And those stones are better quality than what you're paying Disney.

Oh yeah! I know about gold quality prices and what not. I find rings online that are 18kt yellow or white with diamonds under $100. But the difference being, Disney is a name brand, like Vera Wang. I know I could find rings galore for that price (which unfortunately I am guilty of and purchasing).

The ring I am looking at has the diamonds (not too bad in quality...mind you there is less than .25ct count) but they are bezel set which means no prong, so less likely to fall out.

...Yet, I know this is a big purchase and I could very well get bigger/better jewelry for the same price, but...it's Disney.

No, it is this one. (It's the only real gold ring I want to buy; this one you posted is a little much for me. I like dainty)

...even my engagement ring was purchased at a flea market for less than that...and it is 1ct, E color, VVs1 (ish...) 14kt yellow gold

(I picked it out, lol)

I could go on and on, but this will be a one time purchase from their diamond jewelry collection. Yeah, I wish I could have seen it in person and tried it on, but it sounds like their return policy is pretty good just in case.

In my opinion, not in this case. You're paying $1500 for less than 1/4 carat total weight. Those three stones are basically diamond chips - you'll need a jewelers loop to see them. Plus a very light gram weight in gold (not to be confused with karat). You're primarily paying for the design.....

But it is your money....

Wait, you paid what for a 1 carat stone of that color and quality? Did you take the word of the person selling the ring or did you get a qualified appraisal.... Because that stone is nearly colorless (scale starts at D) and almost flawless. The stone alone would be at least $10,000

The person didn't know what they were selling with the quality of the stone. I did my homework when it comes to diamonds, gold and platinum (and I had it checked at retail jeweler).

And in all honesty, with everything that you guys have said about me buying this, I feel the pain and have repeated the same stuff to myself to try and talk myself out of it! Trust me! I know how to find finds for a heck of a deal, but these rings aren't sold on an auction website for a better price (and I wanted something straight from Disney).

I even have a Tiffany ring that I purchased (Platinum, .25ct diamonds) for less than a grand too a few years back.

But, Disney is a retailer business and they are going to sell that ring at a retail price unfortunately...I know, my loss their gain. I guess I just love Disney so much, I want a real piece. Go fig.

Oh and to answer your question about costs, we paid $550.

All jewelry is sold at a retail price. Some is sold higher, just because of name. But it doesn't mean you are getting a superior stone or more metal weight.

Yeah, this is very true. I know in fact it won't be the best quality for the price at all, but I highly doubt it will be same as QVC. Even Disney's costume jewelry is really good. Case in point, I have had a costume ring in my possession for many many years. My parents bought it for me from Disney and it still looks like they bought it yesterday.

All in all, I know I am pulling a lot of moolah out for a ring to which I could easily go buy several rings of better quality or higher diamonds and gold (which I have done many times in the past for less than $100), but as I have stated, it's Disney.

Kind of like being in the Disney parks and buying the cheeseburger combo meal for $30 when you could easily go to a McD's and buy it for $2, but you do it anyway because it is Disney.

Yep, that's me. Guilty!
