Adding one to reservation

we made a reservation at chef Mickey's for 6. We now have a last minute addition to our group.
When I called and asked a CM about adding the 7th person she said there isn't any availability.
One of our "members" is an infant less than 6 months old.
If we show up for this reservation with 7 people wht are the odds of the staff seating us anyway?

Pretty good considering the one is an infant. Usually I would say that going from 6-7 would be an issue, but I'd say likely not. Worst case is someone eats at Contempo Café.

I inadvertantly dropped a member from our party when I made a lunch ADR at Via Napoli during Thanksgiving last year. Didn't realize it until we checked in and they said "Jones, party of 4?" I was confused until I looked at the ADR in MDE. I was worried they wouldn't seat us, especially since I'd talked up the pizza so much and my son-in-law's dad loves pizza - he was the one I'd left off (we had issues with his account the entire trip - took a couple of calls from GS support to fix it). But fortunately, they could accommodate the extra person.

This could go either way. I've seen guests turned away when they show up with an extra person or two. I've seen guests be accommodated, no problem. I've also seen guests be accommodated but told that they'll need to wait for a while. If I were you, I'd keep checking for an opening of the appropriate size so that you don't have to worry. If you don't eventually get a reservation that includes everyone, have a backup plan that minimizes the disruption to your other plans if you can't all be seated. The reason that infants need to be included in reservations is that many of the Disney table service restaurants are short on empty space. Tables tend to be really close together so pulling up an extra chair or adding a highchair to an otherwise already full table can make things uncomfortable, not just for you but for those seated near you. There's often limited space for the servers to attend the tables. More than once we've had beverages spilled because a servers backside encroached on our table. Since the meal in question is a character meal, that minimal space between tables is even more important. Keep checking the website. People cancel reservations all the time. If in the end you don't find a cancellation you could tell the host that you're willing to forego the highchair and keep the baby on your lap. Not the most relaxing way to eat but Chef Mickey's isn't really a relaxing place anyway :) Good luck to you and enjoy your trip!

Via Napoli was fantastic when we happened to run into two friends of ours and their two kids last summer and suggested they join us for lunch -- I just went up to the check-in counter about 20 minutes early, asked if they could change our reservation (from 2 to 6!), and they were able to accommodate us with only a little bit of an extra wait. That said...I wouldn't at all have been surprised if the situation had gone the other way instead.
