Oh yes. But this parade is the last generation of the old Disneyland shows. And I think we should be grateful that we get to see it one more time.

PTN through the holiday season. Then MSEP til June, then PTN returns for a permanent run. God willing we never see the MSEP dinosaur trading off the dim memories of its glory days ever again.

At least Tokyo will soon carry the torch when MSEP ends its run for real next year.

Well, let's look from the Disney Bean Counter viewpoint.
Do we offer PTN the first week of January? Nothing official has been announced.
Mickey's Soundsational Parade will return daily (barring weather or a special event that blocks the parade route).
DCA currently can't host a parade due to the Tower of Terror retheming and the need for backstage access for the work.
So what to do in 2017? Well, we need to look at Market the return of the MSEP to mainly the locals market, and when will the park have large crowds?
I can easily see that they wait until late March and Spring/Easter Break to bring it back (This also allows for the Test and Adjust and Rehearsal time needed after park hours, which usually only happens if the park closes on pr before 10 PM.)
And how long to keep it running for marketing reasons..... How knows when PtN will return....

Soundsational is not coming back until March. MSEP will be the only parade at the resort, so they cannot wait until spring break to debut it.

Nothing will happen at MK until someone decides funding a new light parade is a worthwhile expense. It could be four years or so before they get a new light parade, because they are the worst.
