Cheese curds are not made to be shared. However, other snacks are open for others' consumption.
That would work. But usually I assume the person knocking is a solicitation and ignore them, even though they clearly know I'm home.

I always answer in case it's Girl Guides selling cookies, or kids selling chocolate bars.
We rarely have any kids selling door-to-door here. Heck, we rarely have anyone ring our doorbell. Even on Halloween.
