SSE descent star curtain

Is there still garbage above the descent and cobwebs hanging down?

Not when the lights are off! If you can't see it it's not there. First rule of efficient housekeeping! That's the way I do it, but, it seems for nothing because no one wants to visit me. I should ask them why someday.:(

Hey, that might make a good attraction slogan. Horizons used to be "If you can dream it, you can do it!" SSE will be "If you can't see it, it's not there"! I like it.:D

Might even apply to The Empress Lilly's previous post.

Please do. Everything Ive found so far still points to Perrin.
Ok, I will report back.

Vic Perrin did a voiceover for an early EPCOT Center TV special so he was certainly around Disney at the time SSE's recording would have been done. Spaceship Earth's narration sure sounds a whole lot more like Perrin than Dobkin to my ears too.
Sounds like, but I think Marty may be accurate. I'll dig into it.

We know the City is gone but is it 100% confirmed that the Peppers Ghost videophone scene is still not hidden behind a curtain down there.

Kinda makes one wonder about a blog that doesn't know that it hasn't been EPCOT for a number of years and never was EPCOT Central. EPCOT Center, yes. Now I know that it's a picky point, but, if they cannot get something that simple correct, how much credibility does it really have. It wouldn't have bothered me if it wasn't repeated over and over. Anyway, it is a Zombie thread anyway, but, I felt like commenting.

I probably have the dissenting opinion here, because think the descent works quite well.

I like the choosing your future thing, I think that's really neat. It is also a great way to connect the past to the future and kind of inspire people. So that helps with the bottom part of the descent. I think if there was anything neat to look at during that part, it would only distract from what is on screen.

But the future thing doesn't start right away, it begins after a decent amount of time. And I think that time without anything to look at is important. It allows the riders to listen to Judy and reflect. Unlike most newer rides, Spaceship Earth is powerful and creates a lot to think about. I think it's important to have that time to think before the last part.

In a way, the ending is like a taco shell. It holds the ingredients together and gives them a greater meaning. I like it and I think it works well.

In the end, I'm just grateful that the ride still exists.

He refuses to refer to EPCOT as Epcot because that is the weirdo nineties trying-to-be-hip-but-failing-hopelessly name. I too still call it EPCOT rather than Epcot94, Epcot95, Boozeland2012 or IPcot2016. Or whatever the Philistines come up with.

EPCOT Central in turn is a deliberate wordplay on Center. ;)

The thing about choosing your future is that you already do that on a daily basis. While it's a nice little-personalized ending, it just there for a voided space. It's just there honestly because it seems like they ran out of ideas and the budget. I have never in my times on that attraction used that going down point as a moment of reflection, but then again I know my history. While the overall question for the end of spaceship earth is "What advancements can tomorrow bring?" I would rather have them piping New Horzions on the descent.

I'm biased because I love how Spaceship Earth was before, but my issue with the video screen is that I feel like it loses its charm when you've done it multiple times. Years ago when I first tried it, I was sad about the ending being different but thought the screen was a fun idea, but now that I know all of the possible outcomes I would kind of rather just sit back and enjoy more of the ride during the descent if I had a choice.
