Cars at Sci Fi Diner

How many people can fit in the car booths at Sci Fi Diner? We are going with 6 of us for my parents 40th anniversary and I think that would be something they would enjoy bc its from their generation.

I know I have seen the cars that fit 4 people, but i cant remember seeing ones that fit more. But then again, I wasnt really paying attention.

I don't remember any built to hold more than 4 but hopefully I'm wrong.

If I recall correctly, I do believe some of the cars have 3 rows which would allow for a party of 6.

There area a select few cars that will seat 6. About half the time we were split into 2 cars when we had a party of 5-6.

There are a few that seat 6. We were in one when we went in 2014, we had a 'hitchhiker' in the third row.

Yep there are indeed some cars that have 3 rows so they can fit six.

Make the request for the larger car when you check in. You might have to wait for one to open up for you.

You can they have a spot for notes. I like to have it in twice. It makes me fell like it's more likely to happen but I don't know if it's true.

We actually prefer the few tables that still look like cars. THey hold 4 or 8 and you can talk to everyone in your group. THe only tables I wouldn't want are the tables at the back and sides.

The tables are also better for those of us large economy sizes that don't fit so well in the regular cars.

I wouldnt count on it helping much. My experience has been that even though I've put the notes in with my request, they never seem to in with the ADR at the time when I've checked in. The ressie is there alright but they dont have a clue about the extra needs.

When every I note birthdays or allergies they know about them. Seating requests they don't mention unless I point them out.

There are way more cars that seat 6 then cars that seat 4. You shouldn't have a problem all being in the same car, just request it at check in.

we ate there last year and will say it is more convenient to have part of you party sit in a car right next to you rather than all in the same car. All in the same car you can only talk to the people directly behind or in front of you. And that even requires the front person to turn around. The front and very back people are not able to communicate well at all. Now if someone is beside you in another car...conversing is much easier. We have 8 children and it was hard to get everyone's orders, cut their food etc.

ANother thing to note about the cars is that they are quite tiny. The space between you and the table is small. We are not big people so it wasn't uncomfortable but I thought it could be uncomfortable for a lot of people. I did have a newborn and it was pretty impossible to try to breastfeed while eating. Not enough room to have an infant cradled in your arms with the table so close. I had to turn my legs to the outside of the table in order to accomplish this. Just a few thoughts for anyone planning on visiting here in the future.

One more thing, milkshakes could be substituted for your fountain drink here on the dining plan. However, NOT for anyone on the kids menu. We asked at check in if we could get milkshakes instead of the drink and they said yes but never mentioned not the children. They all planned on getting them and our server told us the children could not. Well there were a whole lot of tears and dissappointed children then! Those of us on the disney adult menus got them and we all shared, however, it would have been nice to know prior to ordering.

Don't wait until the last minute to check in at the restaurant and tell them you're willing to wait for a car. It couldn't hurt.
