Got Plane, Hotel and car....now what?

Due to my Disney-holic daughter's consistent demand of Disney World Trip, I scheduled to take family trip to Disney world in Orlando in June for 7nights.

I booked plane, reserved a house and car. So I need to plan so that my daughter and son can say we had perfect time.
So I was searching thru and landed here. ;)

My plan was to go
1. Epcot (Thanks Weather_Lady :))
2. Hollywood Studio
3. Maybe Animal Kingdom
4. One of water parks (Typhoon or Blizzard)

The reason why I want to skip Magic Kingdom is I live 5 miles away from Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and I got there once a year and from my experience visiting Magic Kingdom in Orlando is about the same so I don't want to spend my time and $$ visiting MK (correct me if I am wrong)

Since I am staying there for 7 days, I was going to spend other days visiting friend in Tampa (one day) and take rest visiting parks.

My question is, is it worth going Animal Kingdom? Should I chose one water park? or go both?

I'd like to Visit Universal Studio in Orlando so I need to open up a day, that is wh.

Thanks in advance.

Candidly, I think skipping the Magic Kingdom is a mistake. You'll find there is lots to do that is different from California -- and it offers more than twice the number of attractions that any of the other parks has. In exchange, if I had to skip something, it would be a water park (the resort pools are great if you are staying on property, and unless you are staying for a very long time or just really love waterparks, that might not be the best use of your time), and/or Hollywood Studios (which has the smallest number of open attractions, many of which are shows rather than "rides"). However, these choices are very subjective, and I'm sure others will have differing ideas about what is the best or most fun.

(*Also, this isn't important, but for the record, the Epcot park is currently called just "Epcot." "Center" was dropped in 1994.)

I only visited Hollywood studio many years back and it was called MGM something....and I thought it would be a good idea to take them to there but since I am planning to go to Universal, skipping Hollywood studio might make sense.

My daughter wants to go to water park so it seems I need to put one in. :D

I certainly wouldn't skip Magic Kingdom either. When we went to California we didn't just go to California Adventure because we see Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Many of the rides are similar but so very different. Plus the castle. :)

Honestly I would skip Hollywood Studios (and note I don't say this lightly as I loved that park before they started construction). I just think there will be too many attractions closed and construction walls will make an already tight park seem even more congested.

Do not skip Magic Kingdom. Even though you've been to Disneyland Park, there's things that may be very different over at Magic Kingdom than back at DL!

It sounds like it is a good idea to skip Hollywood Studio. Since I am planning to visit Universal Studio, it is ok to skip.

One of my friends who is from Florida tells me to skip animal kingdom because you can't see that much in June, is that true?

I'd say definitely do NOT skip the Magic Kingdom. Animal Kingdom can be great -- the animals are the most active either in the rain or in the early morning. Rivers of Light (the new nighttime show) might be open by then as well, so that would be nice to see. The water parks are ok, but I would say Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Universal will be way more memorable than the water park and Hollywood Studios (as it is right now.) At least that's what I would choose.

Thank you so much for your input. I got to find a reason for my daughter not to go to water park. :cat:
I am thinking to show this thread to my daughter so more opinion would be great!

Are you crazy??? No pun intended! Skipping magic kingdom is the biggest mistake you can do. I have did both Disneyland and magic kingdom and while there are many similarities both have very distinct differencee. I hhonestly feel like skipping magic kingdom and focusing on the other parks will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Not to say there other 3 are bad, but there is not much to do.

Are you there for 7 nights/8 days and what time does your flight from CA arrive (I'm assuming you're either on a redeye or you're coming in late afternoon/evening)? And what time does your flight depart? Depending on those factors, you might be able to do all 4 parks, the water park, day at Uni, and visit your pal in Tampa. If your daughter is a water park fan, I'd make a day of seeing one of them (Typhoon lagoon is really cool with the shark cove snorkeling).

I am arriving in the morning at 6am as I am doing red eye, so I have a full day when I arrive.
From reading the thread, Magic Kingdom is a must. :D
Is Hollywood Studio under construction?
