Hi All. From what I understand, there are several different versions of the ride's backstory, so I thought it'd be fun to see which ones you all have heard/which is your favorite.

You might want to take a look at some of the previous threads on this topic.Hi All. From what I understand, there are several different versions of the ride's backstory, so I thought it'd be fun to see which ones you all have heard/which is your favorite.
Been here for years and have no clue.Hang around here longer and you'll start to understand some of the way we work. That's all I'm going to say about this. Have a lovely day!
What does this mean?
Yep. That's part of why there are so many different stories. Cast Members aren't always the best source of information.Really? I've heard several different versions, including from cast members.
So one person says there is no backstory, others say there are several different back stories. Of course imagineers don't work without backstories and it makes sense there are different ones for different HMs. Thanks. That story is so different for every single mansion, manor, etc that Disney has done. There are so many choices in stories and even those of us that know it in detail (and could make your head spin with info), learn something new regarding it every day and every time we ride the attraction. Need I say more?!
Glad to see I'm not the only one.Been here for years and have no clue.
Thanks for the clarification.Yep. That's part of why there are so many different stories. Cast Members aren't always the best source of information.
I presume we are talking about the WDW HM here. There are several loose backstories going on in it. The one in DL is the original and has it's story. Tokyo is similar to WDW, but still different. Phantom Manor is a whole animal of it's own (and as much as I'm a WDW HM addict, Phantom Manor in Paris is the most amazing one they have done IMHO), and then there's Mystic Manor in HK that's different in it's own way. I have been studying the stories of the HM's for years and still learning something new or see something new every ride on the attraction. So one person says there is no backstory, others say there are several different back stories. I definitely agree with you on the Phantom Manor opinion.I presume we are talking about the WDW HM here. There are several backstories going on in it.
