Having trouble booking in October

I seem to be having trouble finding accomodations in my price range on property in October. None of the Values and very little of the Moderates are avail. Considering the resorts at DD now. Any suggestions? Keep in mind I will not have a car at all, and am attending the Halloween party one night of my stay. How is the Wyndam? How well do the shuttles run? Any info would be helpful. Thanx.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
That too! LOL Sometimes when I was looking, I would see no availability and then I would refresh and all of them would show up.
Yep totally agree sometimes the system works great and others it's a pain. You never know what you will get at any moment of the day. Lol :joyfull:

Thanx for your replies. Its Oct 7 through 9. Online had nothing, and when I called the same thing. Could it really be that busy? Wondering if I should wait and see if something opens up? I already booked my MNSSP ticket and worried I might miss it.

I was actually looking up availability yesterday for late October, and it looked like there was plenty at the Values and most moderates. It was the Deluxe resorts that seemed to be booked. Early October had almost zero availability, however.

As for the DTD resorts, I've never stayed at the Wyndham, but I have stayed at the Hilton a few times. It's very nice, and will still have access to EMH in October (that perk ends at the end of the year). The shuttle was great, clean and never crowded. It was also nice to be within walking distance of DTD.

Good luck!

Yes it could be that booked up unfortunately because that is near/during very busy Columbus Day weekend. Lots of schools are out the Monday so people take trips starting that weekend or a few days before the prior weekend. We are getting there 10/13 to avoid a lot of the Columbus Day crowds. :)

Earlier in the year, they had room only discounts for dates up to Oct. 3. In june, we received a pin code for dates from Oct. 4 to sometime in December, so we booked early October. That might have something to do with it if alot of people got the pins.

Thanx for all your advice! I am thinking I might just book one of the Good Neighbor hotels. It's really a $$ issue at this point. I already have my Halloween party ticket purchased, so if I don't get park tickets as well it won't be a big deal. I can always hotel hop and walk around Downtown Disney (excuse me, DISNEY SPRINGS), and then go to the party later on.

Book it as a room only reservation. Then you just need to do the deposit and pay the rest off when you are there. Buy tickets through UT and save a few more bucks that way as well.

Caribbean Beach is available at $175/night with the discount. If you book room only (no park tickets), $197 is due, you have until you arrive to pay the rest. Then you can buy your park tickets from Undercover Tourist, which is a totally safe (and discounted) ticket vendor.
