So I woke up about quarter of 4 this morning to an earthquake. Just a small one - I actually thought it was just a plane taking off, but those don't usually start til quarter of 6.I didn't know it was an earthquake til I put the morning news on.

When DH got up this morning, he said he woke up around 4 and thought the garbage truck had come, so I told him that that was the earthquake. We survived it!

The United States Geological Survey confirms a magnitude 2.3 earthquake was recorded 1 mile southeast of Providence at 3:43 a.m. It was recorded at a depth of 9.5 miles.

NBC 10 News received multiple viewer comments that they felt or heard something around that time.

"Really loud in Bristol. Sounded like a very low plane then the house shook," Chris told us on NBC 10's Facebook page.

"I heard a rumble and thought it was a thunderstorm. My dog is sticking to me like glue," said Patricia of Greene.

"Earthquake felt in Johnston. Thought it was a car accident in front of my house!" Alissa said in a tweet.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

It was just a foreboding that Sharknado 3 premieres tonight!!!

In all seriousness though, there was an explosion last week at one of our beaches (http://www.turnto10.com/video?clipId=11672770&autostart=true),and they still haven't figured what that was about, and now a small earthquake. Perhaps those sharks do have their sights set on RI?
