Plus, it's a long walk. 3 people would walk it daily (and this time of year, 2 of them would die of heat exhaustion).Nobody's bonus is gonna be paid on the additional bricks sold minus the cost of a swingbridge/drawbridge. Path makes sense, $ not there.
Guests will never be allowed to walk along World Drive under the connection between Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.
To where? Like, why would someone walk that way?Interesting thought, considering there is a sidewalk that goes from the Contemporary under the canal back down World Drive.

Well that's surprising! To nowhere. Had to look on Google maps, but it runs to just about the monorail beam, and then stops. I only know its there from runDisney events.

They would make the walk if there were a couple turkey leg carts along the way...It's funny (for lack of a better word) to me how guests go out of their way to avoid extra walking. A few months ago we were at the Contemporary and the monorail was off line. The CMs were directing people who wanted to go to MK to use the walking path. I couldn't believe the amount of grumbling. People were getting very upset and talking loudly about how the benefit of staying in a Magic Kingdom resort is the monorail and saying things like, "why did we pay all this money when we aren't being provided transportation?."
It's like a 10 minute walk, People!! Aren't you going to walk all day anyway?
Not crazy at all. My DH and I vacation at WDW specifically because of the endless places to walk. Walking and having things to look at is our favorite leisurely pastime. We aren't wilderness types so having pavement under our feet is the way to go.Call me crazy(because I am) but I am looking forward to walking this coming May. Granted my last two DLR excursions I was hobbled and we have never been to WDW but being able to walk after several episodes of not being able to walk, now I walk whenever I can! LOL
LOL.I'd rather see them reinstitute the skyway, but to make it more practical have one end start at the MK bus stop, then have it go to a stop at Contemporary with a final stop (and turn-around) at WL.
