How do I make an ADR at CRT? HELP

Hi everyone!

I will finally be able to make our ADRs beginning on Thursday morning. Out of curiousity, I decided to use Disney's website to see what it will be like making an ADR now that way when I do it at 6am on Thursday morning, I will have an idea of what to expect.

Thank God I did this, because I have encounter an issue. While testing this out, I used Cinderella's Royal Table. When I got to the "Payment" section, it asks me to pay $270.46 (four of us) to make the ADR.

We have the Deluxe Dining Plan, so do am I still going to have to pay that amount to make the reservation, or is there another way or making an ADR without paying up-front?
*Note: the website does say my card will be charged NOW, not later.*

Thank you in advance!! :)

Thank you!

I had a feeling that would be the case.

Should I do this for all of the ADRs I would like to make, or specifically CRT?

One Little Spark...
As an example, I tried booking Crystal Palace breakfast for 8/25 through MDE...and it said the earliest availability was 10:30a.

I called 407.WDW.DINE, and there were two openings, one at 7:50 and another at 8:30.

I literally JUST did this call.

That is REALLY good to know, thank you!!

Now wish me luck on being able to call at 6am without my daughters hearing me on the phone lol

You can't call until 7am. And you can certainly try using the website first. If you have a dining plan associated with your MDE profile, they will ask if you want to use the dining plan or pay for it. If you check dining plan, they will only take your credit card number as a hold, not a full payment. (Unless, of course, things have changed very recently!!)

A side tip if you're going at a busy time or trying for a prime seating time...you run the risk of missing out in that hour between the website opening and the phones opening...you can book and pay OOP and then call Disney for a refund. You're testing before your 180 mark, so it's possible it will recognize your dining plan on day 180, but if it doesn't...you might consider this plan. It takes a little bit for the refund to hit, but sometimes it's best practice if it's in the budget.

Case in point, in 2011 I was booking CRT dinner about a month out from our trip, had deluxe dining, but had to jump on ADRs whenever they became available because it was last minute. So, I booked a CRT ADR as soon as I saw it, paid out of pocket, called to have my CC credited since we were on DxDP, and a few days later the $ was credited to my CC account. i.e. better to be charged and refunded than miss out on the ADR.

I was actually considering both trying the website again to see if maybe it just didn't recognize my dining plan (because of how I was trying early), or maybe just paying and then calling & getting a refund. I would HATE to miss out on getting an ADR on the day we want it because of waiting that extra hour, when I could just go online right at 6am and get it done.

I will be able to make ADRs beginning tomorrow and typically wake up for work at 5am (East Coast). Tomorrow I happen to have the day off (oldest is having her 5th grade celebration tomorrow :) ) so I could still sleep in almost an extra hour tomorrow morning and then get on the website at 6am. I will be making a couple other ADRs, and I plan on doing those through the website, so I will try for CRT and if worst comes to worst I will have to call Disney bright & early.

Thank you for the information and help!! :)

I am going to try again through the website. I am now wondering if it was asking me to pay because I was looking at making an ADR for a day/time when we do not have a resort reservation or dining plan.

Will the option to select the dining plan be up at the top of the website?

Thanks so much for your help and advice!! :)

You're welcome! I'm not sure where it will be exactly, but I believe it is the last step of the process where they would normally take your credit card number to pay for the meal. Have a great trip!!

Once you get to the restaurant and inform your server you will be using DDP credits (2 per person, btw), your card will be refunded. I would imagine if you call Disney Dining to make a reservation over the phone, the CM will still ask for your credit card number.
