We have our short trip planned and originally had no reservations set. Then decided to do a lunch at T-Rex because our daughter loves dinosaurs.

Well last night Mrs. CORunner was looking over the MDE app and said 'it looks like we could do royal table but you have to call.'

Thinking the answer would be no I called and they had a lunch available and we took it!

Anybody have a can't miss eat or must see little touch while we are there? When we did Be our guest the atmosphere was really what made the meal so we hoping with the refurb this will be on par.

It's a pretty small dining area (relatively speaking), but ask if you can be seated near the window. They gave us a standard spiel about how they don't honor all seating requests but will make note of it when they are assigning tables. We ended up sitting right next to the window, dead center with an awesome view of Fantasyland. Near the windows also seemed to be pretty early in the progression that the princesses make around the restaurant, so we didn't have to wait long after they entered before seeing each of them. Other than that, I tried the cheese sampler and the steak and both were quite good (if you want food recommendations).

I mean, there are a lot of hidden mickey's up there within the stain glass and carpentry, but that's about all. When they do the sparkle show just look up and enjoy it. Other than that it's pretty much just a bunch of dudes in tights acting overly friendly for additional tips since gratuity is added in to begin with. With us it was one of those did it, it was cool but we're not gonna do it again...

You can also spot the mice downstairs in the Meet and Greet area if you look up. <grin>

Do you ask when you get there or do you call disney and have them put it in as a request?

May sound crazy, but I really liked the elevator. We've eaten B,L&D and CRT, but only got to ride the elevator once. I know it's not the elevator that connects to the suite...but it was pretty and the day we were in it, there was an attendant who really made it a cool experience. Beyond that, the Cindy window, the fireplace, the mice, and the details of the staircase are some of my fave downstairs details. I like getting pics of the lights and flags/banners in the dining room. And of course...love having a window seat. Not sure what meal you're doing, but for breakfast...they seat the window seats with the people who have the 8:05a ADRs that are small enough parties to fit at those tables.
