No way, you will see new Star Wars stuff next year before the Episode 7 comes out in December. Won't be new rides, but there will probably be a lot more merchandise, M&G's, and lots of "quick and easy" things to promote the movie.

Instead of Alien make it a replacement for Tarzan and I agree fully.I don't know what a new "show set" might mean for GMR, but I do have to admit that I might not be completely against a Star Wars scene replacing Alien if done correctly. Specifically a recreation of THIS iconic scene from Empire Strikes Back (ESB has well earned its place as a great classic movie, and it's generally agreed to be the best in the series)-
A pair of impressive Luke and Vader animatronics dueling could be super awesome to look at. Something similar to this was actually done in Disneyland Paris' version of Pirates of the Caribbean, there's a new scene exclusive to that version of the ride where a pirate and a guy from the town (who almost looks like the inspiration for William Turner) have a sword fight. It's rather impressive even to this day, and that was a ride built over 22 years ago. I could totally see a lightsaber battle using the same sort of AA technology to make it look like they're really fighting (perhaps with even newer AA tech).

That's my guess.
Disney is going to probably going to want to wait and see how the public reacts to the new movies before deciding to invest park hardware in them. 7 years may even be too conservative a number.

Yes. Alien only needs an upgrade, it is a classic, one of the best horror movies of all time. Tarzan, not so much...

I really don't think they will wait that long. They are turning around a Frozen ride, albeit a re-theme, in a little over 2 years from the release date, and this is a movie that had no history to go on. Star Wars is a proven franchise that is still one of the top merchandise sellers. They very likely that the have attraction designs already in the works and we are still over a year from release. I think we could see a new Star Wars ride within 2 to 3 years of the release or EP VII.

That would be one problem with switching it out with Star Wars, there you be no movie left to represent the horror genre.

I agree - at least nothing is laughably out dated in DAK. I'm looking at you Ellen; Imagination, Capt Neo...
Side by side, both have Etickets with some major flaws (Disco yeti vs Soarin's poor screen quality) and DAK has the horrible Chester's & Hesters. But pound for pound, dollar for dollar, inch by inch, my opinion is also that DAK is in much better shape than Epcot .

Frequent Fear Plus--first weekend plus every night but the Saturdays--was around $90 with an AP discount. Without Fridays I think it drops to $80 (yes, you add four Friday nights for $10). They are ridiculously cheap, probably need to at least double in price.
The event makes money on booze and express passes. As I alluded to earlier, there are various levels of Express. The $70 Dave mentioned was an off-night, and only gives you one trip through each house. It goes up to $130 on peak nights (more than a HHN ticket). But then there are various "RIP" tours that offer more benefit--unlimited jump the express line--for more $$.
